Never standing still or dwelling on past successes, GURU are back once again, taking us down yet another un-trodden path with their new release from Tony Romera. The young but highly acclaimed French producer keeps the energy cranked but injects “All I Want” with bags of ghetto-funk to create a vibrant and unique club strut.
Snapping rhythms and shuffling drums get us underway before a huge rolling bassline powers its way into the mix alongside lyrically fluid vocals. The bassline provides the backbone of the entire track, laying down the relentless forward momentum and a heavy, 4am warehouse vibe. As it throngs forward with the weight of a jumbo jet, the bass catches the dancefloor up in a swirl of mechanics and FX that sends the track into overdrive. Hip-hop style vocals add real flavor and character to the tune, just as ominous tones in the background bring the intensity and sense of drama.
GURU’s last three releases have really highlighted the dexterity of the label, all pushing a totally different sound but maintaining that astonishingly high quality. Tony Romera’s “All I Want” is another example of how GURU consistently takes things to the next level.

Immediately launching into a hectic soundscape that features swirling FX, pounding kick drums and snapping rhythms, its clear “WTTF” is not going to pull any punches. Disturbingly distorted synth lines and twisted vocals join in the mix before the intensity levels are cranked and a crunching bassline sweeps in and drags us all towards the fiery inferno of the future. Heavy and hard-hitting but with plenty of bounce and attitude, this is futuristic house at its most compelling. Welcome to the future!!

Tony Romera is a man who simply can’t be contained right now. Returning once again to Guru, the Frenchman continues his red-hot streak with a new track that is wildly unique and as inventive as it is compelling. Moving through various genres and tempos in one single track, Romera highlights his ingenious skills as a full-on party extraordinaire.
“Zombie” flies straight into action with deep, dubby atmospheres and heavy grooves. Alarm-like FX whirl around as the track’s projection begin to change and morph into skanking electro and chopped-up house. Then after a stint locked into a hypnotic groove, “Zombie” then flips on its head and swings into dubstep-influenced sonics. Grumbling bass, punchy beats, cylindrical lines and hazy layers collide to create a soundscape that simply has to be heard to be believed. Not for the faint-hearted, this track will pull you in, spin you around and chuck you out the other side of a parallel dimension.
