Tall Waves was born in 2018 to Matt Rowley, Tim Evans, Ben Hannigan, and Sean Atkins in the state of Pennsylvania. Originally a studio project of Rowley's, it was a childhood friend (Atkins) who convinced him to pursue a live instrumentation and continue writing new material. Combining Rowley's already strong work, with some rough drafts, Atkins and Rowley continued writing until it was time to find a group to fill out the parts and perform. Atkins looked to former Last Tuesday guitarist, Ben Hannigan who had a wealth of touring knowledge and experience as lead guitarist, who they'd known from his work in the former Pittsburgh-based band, Linus. After a long drummer search, and some great luck, the band stumbled upon Tim Evans who had played in a wide variety of local bands, as well as been a fixture in the scene as a multimedia designer. The group are currently working on their first LP to be released as together, as Tall Waves.
