DJ, Producer and Curator of Hidden, Deepak Sharma has been entrenched within techno for over a decade. Tough, raw and gritty describe the man, his music and label.
Perseverance is another word synonymous with Deepak Sharma: an unrelenting passion for music and sharing his sound through a belief so intense, his soul pours out and bears itself within each release and DJ set. Known for a cerebral approach to music, he demonstrates his ethos that DJ’ing is about creating a moment, often through taking crowds on a hypnotic journey and building energy, with a room as one towards a higher peak. While DJ’ing is his calling, his label also requires the utmost care through each carefully curated offering, slowly and steadily building a catalog greater than most accomplishing the rare feat of forty-four releases and counting.

TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ CRISTIAN VARELA

Cristian Varela celebrates 30 years of his career. 
Cristian plays a very important roll in the history of electronic music in Spain, being an indispensable part in the construction of the national industry of dance music and one of Spain’s pioneer international artists. The artist from Madrid writes in first person some of the most significant pages of this evolution, becoming a pioneer in diverse aspects, which today make up the roadmap of this profession. These aspects were the first Live sets, 4 turntable set ups, major events and festivals and the creation of a Techno label with a huge international repercussion. His advanced vision turned him into one of the main leaders of the professionalization of the Spanish scene. 
Pornographic Recordings, Phrenetic Society, Electrosonic Festival and Manita are just a few examples of his innovative proposals and creations.
He also received at the International DJ Awards, Best Techno DJ in 2007 and 2013, the only Spanish artist to receive these honours, naming him the ambassador of Spanish Techno, an artist who shines his own light in every corner of the planet.

SURPRISE! I’ve been going through so much TECHNO music for the second night of STAX with Chris Liebing this Saturday in Brooklyn that I thought it would be appropriate to share a set of mine from where it all began… DETROIT!

As you all may already know, I rarely release sets from the past but today I’m sharing my Movement set from 2016. This was such a special gig for me for so many reasons. I was asked last minute to fill in the headline slot for Richie Hawtin and it became a set that I’ll never forget. If you were there, you would know how much fun this one was.

No; there's plenty that we can draw from the elements running wild at this time of year. Train yourself to think more in a more positive light, just as Hybrid Recordings boss Cari Lekebusch has done in his latest mix for us. Referencing his homeland's own frozen environment he's put together a selection that injects a tangible yet mystic energy into the fold. It’s also the perfect indicator of what we can expect from his next visit to Farringdon later this month when he joins Terry Francis and Peter Van Hoesen in Room Two.

Brothers possessing an encyclopedic knowledge of music across the spectrum, Karl & Ken Meier join Bryan Kasenic in our New York studio.

Born and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago, longtime collaborators and real-life brothers Ken and Karl Meier – who also records and performs as half of Talker, a duo with Jonathan “Stave” Crohn – developed a mutual obsession with music from their parents’ record collection, digging into rock & roll before moving onto synthpop and, eventually, the more electronic end of the spectrum. Working together at the Windy City’s reputable Gramaphone Records only increased their vinyl enthusiasm and expertise, simultaneously honed with weekly broadcasts on frequencies like WNUR and WHPK. Though the opportunity to DJ came somewhat unexpectedly to Karl, he and his brother took to it: they were the first Chicagoans to play out with Pioneer CDJs and hosted the Fear of Music event series (and now podcast) featuring a mix of regional and international producers including Surgeon, Function, Anthony “Shake” Shakir and BMG. Now based in New York City and Berlin, respectively, Ken and Karl come together in the studio for a wide-ranging, hard-hitting collaborative DJ set and an interview with Bryan Kasenic.

Was sorting through an old hard drive and found this, completely forgot I even had a recording of it. Was lucky enough to be on warmup for DVS1 when he came to Belfast, it was a massive deal for me as he's up there with my favourites - a proper DJs DJ. Went down and picked him up from Dublin airport and he was asking me what time my set started, and he showed up to the gig early to sit and listen to me play. What a guy!
