“Me costó meterme en el mood ya que llevaba mucho tiempo sin pinchar pero después de unos intentos entré en calor y no encontraba el momento de parar. Al final fueron tres horas. Pensé en hacer un edit y cortar por algún lado pero ya que lo tenía grabado, por qué cortarlo. Os lo comparto tal y como quedó”.  El estilo, el de siempre de Refracted: techno como idea y conducto más que como sonido fácilmente etiquetable. Another oldie from the archives, this one is a 2010 room 2 peak-time masterclass from the now sadly passed away Mike Huckaby. A true Detroit legend.

It's fair to say that Plex putting on house artists was a pretty rare occurrence over the years but when we did have house DJ's play, we did it properly and Mike played an exceptional set that night. The entire line-up was one of the most eclectic and varied we probably ever put on and had I-F play 2 headline sets (one as Beverly Hills 808303), Headcleaner delivering a modular live set before most producers even knew what Modular synthesis was, a very early Rival Consoles live set, Al Tourettes, Konx-Om-Pax and ToTheBone Dj's hosting room 2 with Mike, Placid and Plex residents. 

All the recordings from our 4th birthday party sound really great so there will be more to come from this one for sure. Enjoy.

Shelley, from Bielefeld, Germany, turned her passion for electronic music into a profession in 2019. Electronic sounds have accompanied her since childhood, and she found inspiration in the local club scene. Through long nights and countless sonic journeys, she discovered the fascination of DJing and decided to use her listening experience to create her own sets.

Driven by hypnotic and impulsive rhythms, combined with dark and dissociative atmospheres she developed through the years her own style. Today, with precise attention to detail and a very delicate touch.

It didn't take long for her style to be recognized, and she was able to create impressive sets. Also Eric Cloutier invited her to play her first gig at Tresor in Berlin where she could prove her skills in front of a decent crowd. Shelley is sure to continue creating influential sets and mesmerizing audiences.

KEN ISHII made his debut on the legendary Belgian techno label R&S Records in 1993. In that year he reached No.1 on UK’s NME magazine’s techno chart which led him to worldwide recognition. In 1997, the video for the single ‘EXTRA’ (directed by Koji Morimoto) from the same album won MTV's ‘Dance Video of the Year.’ Since then, Ken is regarded internationally as one of the Japanese pioneers of world-class electronic sounds. Ken produced the official theme song for the 1998 Nagano Olympics and have worked on various film scores. 

Ken spends half of his time traveling in Europe, Asia, North/South America DJing, and he is currently producing an original KEN ISHII album for the first time in 13 years that is scheduled to release in 2019.

Ed Davenport also known as Inland is a british DJ, Producer and founder of the Counterchange Recordings label based in Berlin. As Inland today his busy output stands for purist and inherently progressive rhythmic work, grounded in the romantic traditions of early techno yet driven by a constant search for new ground, textures and studio-techniques.

The last few years have been very eventful for Ed. He has been successfully running his label and expanding the catalogue with excellent contributions from known and unknown talent, as well as travelling around the world to play music, while he has been also getting in touch with the contemporary art world more by collaborating with different artists for various art projects, which have been exhibited around Europe. Some highlights of Ed’s dedicated hard work include the release of his outstanding debut album ''An Invitation To Disappear'' in collaboration with swiss artist Julian Charrière on Ostgut Ton's sub label A-TON, and the release of a massive VA  compilation record on his very own Counterchange label featuring artist such as Efdemin, Peter van Hoesen, BNJMN, Joel Mull, Distant Echoes and many more! 

The latest project of Inland is a series of events called Arch, which are very cozy and special nights at Prince Charles in Berlin dedicated to live electronics, electro-acoustic and experimental concerts. After a successful first edition of Arch featuring BNJMN, Pornceptual resident Jamaica Suk and a stunning b2b performance of Inland himself together with film music composer John Guetler, Ed continued to invite inspiring artists such as Magna Pia, Mattheis and coming up next are Perm, Johanna Knutsson, Fred Mann and Amandra. Do not miss to experience Arch if you are a true fan of electronic music in all of its facets.

To us, Ed will always hold a special place in our hearts, not only because we have always had deep respect for his work, but also because he was one of the first to believe in our concept and be part of the first Nachtblumen experience back in 2018. Now, two years later, we are happy to be hosting Ed for our 3rd birthday with a special contribution to our podcast series. For those of you who truly know Ed as an artist, you will know that he is quite versatile in his music taste and expression, and for those who don’t you are in for a treat.
