Henry's Theme (From 'The Flying Kipper')

I wrote this piece in memory of a dear life-long friend who passed away in April 2020 after a long battle with ALS. The title is from Walt Whitman's poem of the same name which he wrote after the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. It is for a large string orchestra. Over two weeks ago I came home from an important exam, felt I'd done well enough on it – it turned out I had btw, so now it's off to uni at long last! – and so was in just the mood to start making this piece. It was inspired by this track of DemonOfNowhere's: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6LlnEqywNc. I notched the pitch up a semitone to change things up.
