Here's a tune I wrote for the last Danger Painters record. Those records I do with Michael Barron are some of my favorites, but they happen all in a month and so I forget about some of these songs. I stumbled upon this one today, oddly it's about memory.

I Remember Everything

Well, the RPM Challenge is here and Michael Barron and I are making our fifth Danger Painters record. This is one we've worked on since the challenge started February 1. Michael sent me the guitar part, i did the other stuff.

One Undone mix2

Working on the next Danger Painters record with Michael Barron. This tune started with me. That's Michael on the clean sounding guitar. I'm actually using my iPad for many of the sounds with treatment of those sounds in Logic. the song needs work, a bass and some words…some work on the drums…a bit more definition maybe…but it's worth a listen..

I used a performance of a kora and gated it and effected it to form the rhythm of the piece. once in a while i have the melody poke out. Still a work in progress. I wrote the words using a flow chart. It's inspired by an across the street neighbor who seems to always be standing at an ironing board.

Sometimes the simplest songs are the best. But simple ain't always easy. Michael Barron wrote this tune…sent me that guitar line and two tracks of voice…I wanted something that was counterpoint to the sea story and was playing with some 4/4 club thumping dance sounds…if for nothing else than to amuse myself. but it was perfect and not far from what an audience would do clapping to a tune like this…i did the hand clap and put a washy watery woozy effect. what do you think?
