I have been interested in the concept of ironic samples for some time now. the "ugly" meme sounds that should be total no go. but in recent years i heard some musicians incorporate these sounds into their music. The first time i noticed it was when Mura Masa used sounds that sound like they where sampled from a Roadrunner cartoon on his song Blessing Me. Then 100 gecs sent out The most wanted person in the United States, with the iconic boing sound, that sound like an arrow hitting a tree.

I made a gabber remix of the disco classic "Disco Mickey Mouse" for RemixEverything's Disco compilation, benefiting MAP (Medical Aid for Palestinians), a UK charity whose mission is to help Palestinians get and maintain proper healthcare both in this current crisis of genocide as well as in the long-term when the genocide is finally stopped (as it needs to be). The album was headed by Dave Skywalker and also features awesome artists like Duran Duran Duran, DeBisco, SNACK ATTACK, and more!
