When I heard that the bass player and lead singer of my absolute favourite Dutch act Froukje were coming down to my show at Skatecafe last October, I couldn’t resist the urge to make them a little musical surprise. I tried to combine the beautiful vocals of their song "Een Teken" with instrumentals from my world and turn it into a track that would embrace the fragility of the lyrics, but at the same time could get the dance floor going. 

I was pleasantly surprised by the result and also very happy to hear it went over well with Froukje and the band. After playing the track at almost all of my shows over the past months and receiving so many questions about when it was coming out, I’m thrilled to announce I have received permission to release it as an unofficial remix today.

While Gotu Jim's "Honderd Duizend Rondjes," the final track on the album 'Niet Geslapen Wel Gedoucht,' is about the darker side of nightlife, the instrumental wasn't molded to the genre just yet. Embracing his recognisable 90’s hard house sound, DART joins the Agrio Tracks family with two big club anthems. Coming off the back of a massive summer collaboration with fellow Agrio artist Kyle Starkey, trailblazing this summer’s full revival of the genre, he now goes at it alone and guides us into a club season filled with potent house music.

‘Emergency’ is a powerhouse with bouncy bass lines that pull you in and latch you on to the track’s ever building energy early on. Small stab samples set the rhythm on top, creating a tense build up for the inevitable payoff. Filtering slowing beneath it all is a symphonic monster; once you hear that main synth line break through it’s head down and hands in the air. The blaring alarms only confirm what you’ve come to realise already: it’s an emergency!
