同レーベルから6月27日にリリースする、WORLD SOUL COLLECTIVE VOL.1では、レーベルのベストソングを集めたレーベルベスト盤をリリースする。それをきっかけに、日本代表としてレーベル初のオリジナルソングをつくったプロジェクトがこの「Make the Change」だ。
プロデューサーには三浦大知やEMI MARIAの曲を手がけるHIROYUKI　MATSUDAを迎え、レーベルが今まで培ったレコーディングの技術を注ぎ込み完成した。 そして目玉はヴォーカリストのNao Yoshioka。今回彼女が選ばれた理由は明確で、「世界にむけて活躍をしたい」という意思が明確だからだ。 彼女がライブで歌うサム・クックのChange Is Gonna Comeを聞いたときに、変革はくるものではなく、自ら働きかけて創り出すものというインスピレーションから生まれたのが今回の楽曲「Make the Change」である。 作詞はニュージーランド出身でSWEET SOUL RECORDSからEPをリリースしたSacha Veeが手がける、海を越えて実現した国際的なプロジェクトになった。 ソウルが国境を越えて繋がり、多くの素晴らしいアーティスト達が認知を得て賞賛される時代を創るため、我々はこのMake the Changeで世界に訴えかける。
