Using the 7 String King preset on the Eleven Rack, the Quad on channel 1 Rhythm, Behringer Vintage Overdrive.Two tracks use Recabinet with some big speakers and makes the mix way better than the Eleven Rack on it's own.Used different picks each time for a lot of variation.Is kind of loosely thrown together, was just going through preset on 11R asunderstand what each is a little more (they are named like hints as to what band and what music they are for..sneaky!)...Always curious as when I hear demos of preamps they are always some detuned thing so it's hard to rate what I have against other stuff so I sold out for a bit lol.  Steven Slate Drums Black Kit (used DrumTools Performance Designer to tweak instead of Kontact).

Yamaha Pacifica + Metal Rush 208 Preset w/EPSi & OwnHammer 412-GTR MAR-CB MIX

Same as the Metal Rush preset, but switching the amp to DC Modern 800 & turning my Maxon OD808 tone down. Used a Yamaha Pacifica 122MS with the Tone Zone & HS-1 together. Loving this tone.

Here is one of the first things I did with my Pitchfactor.  I recorded a one take solo on the Eleven Rack and reamped it with different pitches using a different Pitchflex setting on each "new" track.  I changed some of the intervals in real time as it was being reamped and it sounds like I am doing Steve Vai style bar ticks but no wammy bar was used on the original take at all.  So I was triggering the Flex with a Digitech FS3X and turning the knobs physically on the unit as well as running the Kensington Expert Mouse on the Eleven Rack wah.  It was pretty fun to pull off.  For this example, the pitchfactor is mono and first in the signal path.  For most other uses, I keep it in the FX Loop.

Someone suggested I do more of a rhythmic chordal mix and it was just what I needed.  Combined the Rockmaster and the Quad Preamps with the Eleven Rack for a big tubey rock ballad sound.

I liked the Pitchfactor's EVH type chorus (micro P) so much I used it on every track.  It seems like there's tons of tracks but each one is just the micro P which makes two additional tones on top of your dry tone.  You dial one down 5 cents and one up 7 cents and give it about 65% wet signal.  I may have delayed one of them also.

Redid some tracks with Singtall's "80s King" Preset.  Didn't like the way the new leads turned out in the mix so I took some outtakes from the old version ("TLTD-Meaty" preset)and threw them in there.

Trying out some ideas with my custom Mary Friedman/Jeff Loomis lead patch on the Eleven Rack.  I like the way it works with harmonies a lot and still holds up to soloing on it's own.  Might need some arrangement work and re-recording rhythm guitars with rhythm patches but really liking this for creating ideas.

Due to a delay in getting my PDI09, I decided to see what I could get out of this mix by using some plugins.  I will rerecord this with the Palmer when I get it hopefully not need so many plugins.  Like what they do for the drums though.  I upgraded to Cakewalk Music Creator 6 from 5...although I like it, a lot of my old projects are messed up and panning wont even do anything really disappointed in Cakewalk, seems like they take out something for everything they add so you will give up and buy Sonar.

Use Logudy EPSi in the FX Loop to load the stereo IR. Make sure all four cables are hooked up. 

George Lynch Dokken preset with 80s metal muti-cabinet IR

This is with the Eleven Rack cabs disabled.  Finding some sounds are better with the cabs and the Palmer acts as a resister so I don't have to EQ out the fizz and have those FX blocks for something else.  Well worth the investment so far.  This is with a Schecter Diamond Gryphon with Duncan Designed pickups I bought from my nephew really cheap.  Neck is not straight at all, but I like it for some reason lol.

Made an IR with some setting on DFX that I like. The addition of the EQ makes a huge difference in the warmness of the enhancements and effects. The only way I could find to do this was so run a test tone through Audacity and re-record it that way, then run the comparison data through Deconvolver. Might try it with some cabinet IRs and see how that goes too...

Home brewed DFX 12 IR on entire mix experiment

Sorry, couldn't rely on one setting for this much stuff, but tried to EQ around a bit. I think this IR is useful in a lot of situations if you are attentive to watch out for clipping. Some of the darker detuned metal guitars are Schecters, the rest is the Pacifica. 

20 minutes of random guitar stuff DFX'd

Was going for more of a Mesa Boogie sound with this, like when I used the Quad preamp. Had to use some analog stuff I turned into IRs and other trickery I will try to get into an IR Cab somehow. The final mix was "summed" by using DFX Audio Enhancer 12's EQ and a dynamics and slight hyperbass boost and recorded through Audacity and reencoded.

Using the Torpedo Wall of Sound III's presets (California Metal i think), done some EQ-ing to get it right for my taste. Other than that, this is completely dry/no FX. 

You get a bunch of cabinets for Wall of Sound when you register your Le Pedal.

Wondering if I should put these in my Wolfgang, everything comes out so good.  I'm not sure I like the JB for the neck.  Needs more attack. Might go PAF Pro Neck.  This is on the Schecter Diamond Gryphon.  I don't really like the way it plays, like bends and vibrato just don't feel right like you can bend the string and it's not doing anything, it's like a toy but it's comfortable to play..

Trying some things out with Ross J Johnson's Circus Maximus & Leadus Maximus presets.  I slightly modified them and used the IR1A plugin to get a little bit more of an am sound than comes with the Eleven Rack, and used some limiting in the FX Loop.  My Pro Tools skill is a little rusty, but for some reason the IR1A plugin started working on my new laptop, thinking Windows finally updated something for my processors.  It's been like a year since it has worked right so I have been farting around with other things but could never quite get that sound from any other impulse plugin.  It has a lot of nice features like hi and low pass, mix, you can delay the impulse a little, and it has a phase switch which I used in this.  The clean guitar part has one of the reverb imupulses too.  I wasn't sure how many plugins I could run so just did one track of each guitar and widened it.

Circus Maximus Eleven Rack Presets w/Mellow Muse IR1A

I love these impulses.  I just used them long after I recorded some samples.  I took out the Eleven Rack cab sounds by high passing a little, dropping some frequencies and boosting the highs a little but I preferred this to putting them on with no cab so it will be my method from now on I think (and much more convenient/work in any DAW this way too).  I tried to use a combination on each impulse, like a Fat Head on the left and 906 on the right or something.  There's so many usable impulses.  In Pro Tools, I use Mellowmuse IR1A but here I just used Cakewalk Music Creator and the free plugin KeFir to load impulses.  At the very end was my attempt at Mark Day's Flying High cover tune sound.  Not exact, but I like it.  The impulses make the difference and I'm very happy, just wish they would allow an impulse load on board the Eleven Rack but cool to have these great speaker impulses.

The other one I just borrowed the Randall tracks Ola reamped but I've been looking for a good plugin.  This isn't bad, didn't need much tweaking like the Poulin plugs.  Fixed up some of the issues in the other mix.  Not that happy with the solo sound (everything I tried was pretty noisy/might be for a different plugin).  Might do a re-remix for the actual competition I dunno.  i just like playing with good DIs.  I never be happy with the vocals, this could be a learning experience for decent vocal processing.  Could never get the vocals to sit right.  Need some constant effect that fixes everything on the fly lol

You could scroll down a ways and hear the other one "Mastered with M40fs" I think it's called.  I still use the same headphones, but used some bus mastering tricks to get the frequencies cleaned up with Waves & 112dB plugins.  I think there's a touch of PSPAudioware MixSaturator valve 3 on there with some smoothing of certain frequencies.  Don't quote me on that lol  Waves L3 Multimaximizer on the Master bus as usual, but I adjusted the EQ so that there wasn't much compression trying to make it transparent so you can hear the work of the other plugins better.

This is my own music, performed by me, mixed by me, mastered by me, etc.  I designed the sounds of the guitars for Avid Eleven Rack.
