The soundsystem at Vantek was singing, the crowd were getting down and it was one of those nights where 5 hours felt like 1 hour. The Mercurian Crater Festival rarely opens its doors. While primarily designed for wholesale traders from across the galaxies, guests from all walks of life are welcome to join the experience. Installations, auctions, food courts, and an endless array of goods for every taste make this event a spectacle of creativity. One pavilion, in particular, is drawing a growing crowd. And for good reason — this is the place to let loose. The immersive sound is intoxicatingly good, thanks to a true master in the lineup.

Somewhere in the crowd, a high-ranking official from an Aerospace Corporation flashes by, a local dealer darts past, and a scholar observes the scene alongside a talking cat. In this eclectic mix, the right connections often form in the most unexpected ways — even rival factions sometimes find common ground. Despite its scale, the festival has never received official status, a testament to its rather… unconventional organizers, who prefer to stay out of the spotlight. But then again, no one really needs an announcement to know what goes on under the banner of such a grand event. Welcome to the chaos!

TM Shuffle is more than just a name in the international dub techno scene. The Finnish producer, DJ, and head of VUO Records has a rare talent for distilling the essence of depth, space, and rhythm into his productions. His music is infused with a hypnotic pulse that doesn’t shout loudly but tells stories subtly – of snow-covered landscapes, quiet nights, and an unwavering love for electronic music. What sets TM Shuffle apart is his uncompromising dedication to reduction. His musical philosophy is not about quantity but quality: less is more. By deliberately limiting himself, he becomes more creative – digging deep, searching intentionally for the right sound, and developing a distinct musical signature. This principle is evident not only in his productions but also in his thoughtfully crafted, driving DJ sets.

He shares this passion off stage as well: as the label head of VUO Records, he provides a platform for other artists who share his vision of dub techno – raw, organic, and timeless.

In a personal conversation with Andre Kronert, TM Shuffle offers insight into his creative workflow and studio philosophy. In a world of unlimited possibilities, he consciously relies on a minimalist setup: turntables, a mixer, a few select synthesizers, drum machines, and a computer for sequencing. Tm Shuffle comes from the forests of Ruutana, Finland. His passion for music started in early 90's and his record collection and musical vision has grown since those times. He runs Vuo records, having released music from Trevor Deep Jr, Stardub, Ohm, Kalle-M, Octaedre, himself and many more. In his productions as well as DJ sets the spotlight is always on the music. His sound is a sum of all those felt bassdrum kicks, which have been plenty. You could call it dubtechno but it's more; it's 4am moods and endless grooves, filtered delays and rolling hihats. Sometimes techno, sometimes house, most times something beyond.
