Two of our favourite things at lempuyang HQ are deep techno and curry. As one of Glasgow's best exports in recent years, Chris covers both bases. He also happens to be a shithot (geddit?!) DJ and producer. Chris first came to our attention after his contributions to the always excellent OHM Series label, and he was subsequently invited onto our annual 'Pura' V/A compilation, comfortably holding his own against heavyweights such as Hydergine, W-Moon & Merv.

In addition to the above, you'll also find Chris loitering in the rosters of Mixcult, Greyscale, and we highly recommend picking up the excellent Sons of San release on Verdant.

Biography: 
Electronic musician, producer and remixer from the south of Russia, from the city of Krasnodar. "I have come a long way before realizing that my music can be interesting not only to me, but also to others. During this time, naturally, views on the creative process and sound creation have changed, as has the industry itself. At the moment, I create experimental underground sound under the creative pseudonym Hopler Route. Collaborated with the labels Crossfade Sounds, ECOUL SND, Slope Point, Superordinate Dub Waves, Secret Domain, Echoshapes, hello▼strange, Proton Radio, [PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB], Techenie, Liberty Rhythm, Seesaw Records. The music closely intersects with many musical directions, the main ones are Dub Techno, Ambient, Deep Techno and in some compositions it even smoothly flows into Deep Tech\Minimal. From time to time, I record DJ sets and mixes to share with listeners my interesting discoveries in the world of electronic music. And this time, at the invitation of friends from Novosibirsk, I could not refuse, and recorded cool mix! Enjoy listening to everyone!

The fifth installment of Greyscale’s Exposure series, Refractive Index, continues the label’s focus on vinyl DJ culture with these four gems pressed onto Crystal Clear 180-gram wax. Featuring artists from around the world, this compilation blends dub techno foundations with playful rhythmic variations. Massimo Music opens the record with 'Poly Crystals', a dense, atmospheric cut driven by cascading chords that arc and shimmer over a powerful groove. An amazing track that shows the tracks don't need to be long to be as epic. Also, on Side-A, German producer Armin Bender lightens the mood with 'The Other Side'. This track’s crisp percussion and stuttering beats give it a restless energy. Bright and melodic, it carries a breezy, almost carefree vibe while maintaining just enough rhythmic complexity to avoid predictability. DJs seeking something both brisk and accessible will find it here. Flipping over, Australia’s Noosa Sound System brings 'Dub Move', merging house’s dancefloor functionality with classic dub aesthetics. The slamming beat and sharp percussive snap offer high energy, but the track still feels relaxed making it the perfect balance of the other tracks. Tm Shuffle comes from the forests of Ruutana, Finland. His passion for music started in early 90's and his record collection and musical vision has grown since those times. He runs Vuo records, having released music from Trevor Deep Jr, Stardub, Ohm, Kalle-M, Octaedre, himself and many more. In his productions as well as DJ sets the spotlight is always on the music. His sound is a sum of all those felt bassdrum kicks, which have been plenty. You could call it dubtechno but it's more; it's 4am moods and endless grooves, filtered delays and rolling hihats. Sometimes techno, sometimes house, most times something beyond.
