Melbourne all nighters, Chapel St breakfast discos and doof-arenas are Henry Who’s penchant when called to arms. A DJ technically adept as he is versatile, he can be seen with a couple of USBs, or even a tote bag of 45’s residing at Melbourne’s institutional clubs. Showcasing in late night time slots has evolved into support slots alongside DJ Pierre, Matthew Herbert, Toro y Moi, Floating Points and Seth Troxler, as well as big stage presence at events including Piknic Electronik, Babylon Festival, Future Music Festival, Best of Both Sides Festival and S.A.S.H. (SYD).

While broadening his repertoire, Who evolved into roles that link him closer to Melbourne’s electronic music community. You might be that 1 in 3 million that gets a “Lets do it” reply from Henry, fulfilling his role as the Booking Agent for Melbourne’s club Migliore, Revolver Upstairs. He has now founded Revolver's launch into a recording label (Revolver Upstairs Records) working as Label Manager in the world of music distribution.

All Who’s efforts as DJ / Booking Agent / Label Manager are the pillars for Kanvas, an events brand encompassing his 14+ years in the diverse world of music and nightlife, launching in 2020.

We cannot be more thrilled to have this superhuman fly in for our latest guest mix. A legend who has significantly shaped Creatures into what it is today, for which we are eternally grateful.

Our 55th mix in our ever-growing Global Mix series this week comes from a collective, rather than the usual touring or emerging artists.

Today we're buzzed to welcome 3 of Scotland's soundest promoters and party starters, ALL U NEED to our hot seat, as they provide us with a whopping 4 hours 30 mins mix of club heat, recorded live from Subclub, in Glasgow on Halloween night.

The Glasgow based collective, made up of Alex Dobie, Zander Coulter and Graham Brown, first came onto our radar back in 2019, whilst we worked on a sold out KETTAMA club show in Glasgow's huge SWG3 venue.

Upon visiting Glasgow and attending their party, the crew, not only excellent hosts and party throwers, we got to experience first hand their tight mixing skills really and absolute fun taste in tunes.

ALL U NEED has been a constant for 7 years, set up by a group of friends getting to do what they love week in, week out. Foremost, the trios main focus is to promote local and emerging talent, who are briefed to play “solid club music” every week in Subclub, as well as promoting their favourite emerging international DJs. As a solid crew in their own right, it makes sense for them to take the reigns every now and then, promoting the sounds they curate in the club.

All U Need come through with quite frankly, all you could possibly need in a mix. The four and a half hour mix span’s through house, techno, breaks, grime, acid, rave, electro and a whole lot more. The mix serves a vivid representation of the energy building on a dance-floor, throughout the night. The mix reaches an ultimate climax and then the energy crawls it’s way back down. Tension goes up and down down, like a yoyo and keeps you on your toes the whole time.

Introducing Emma Renée for Volume 27 of the TOASTCAST! 

Half Dutch / Half Irish, Emma grew up in Belgium before relocating to Melbourne a few years ago. After falling in love with the Australian dance music and festival scene, she started coming to our events and before long had become part of our core crew of music-loving mates.  

Emma has put together a set for us that will make you want to get up and dance. From melodic trance to full on rave, this is a mix bursting at the seams with energy!

We're also stoked to announce she'll be playing her debut TOAST show for us at Glamorama on Sunday 12 December. Come down for a boogie and see what Emma is all about!!

Novelcast 144: Emma Renée

A South Korean techno producer, Pharis has been making a name for himself in the Australian music scene. He has released his productions through Melbourne techno label Machine, and has collaborated with fellow Korean producer Chanjo together as ‘Parallel 38’; as well as Melbourne producer Composite Cone to create notable EPs - such as ‘Red Alert’ and ‘Counterforce’. His work has also been released via the compilation album 'Believe in Freedom of Choice and Democracy' from Polish record label 999.

Pharis' brand of techno is deep, driving, and hypnotic - a unique sound which he has brought to MOTION Festival, as well as various secret raves + club dance floors around the city.

TOASTCAST VOL 30 - PETRA

The TOASCAST is back! We've decided to get our butts into gear and upgrade our toaster, discovering a new and improved model which will toast one mix a month for you to enjoy. Sounds like delicious cooked bread! 

Meet Ben Kennedy, who brings us the recipe for Volume 31. He is from Dublin, Ireland and has been living in Australia for 3 years. Ben has always had a huge passion for music. It started off by playing the guitar and drums as a kid and later transitioned into electronic music where the urge to learn how to DJ began. 

Ben has been DJ’ing for just under a year now and has had the pleasure of playing at Circus, Killing Time and a few other bars and clubs on the Southside of Naarm / Melbourne. 

Over the last year he has built up a fairly hefty vinyl collection with his main goal moving forward to play records all around Melbourne and share his love for house music.

His mix for us is a tasty one, perfectly toasted and garnished with spreads like house, breakbeat, acid and even some trancey elements thrown into the mix. Now that's some good TOAST!

UK born, Naarm/Melb based Anna B has been making waves in the local dance music scene as of late. 

Regularly featured on line ups for Novel, Glamorama, and Supernature to name a few, she is also the host of The Glow Up on Area 3000 and recently launched her own event series, Sweet Gemini. 

Brought up on the sounds of the 90s and old school UKG, these influences are evident throughout Anna's sets which are filled with inspired selections and bursting with energy.

Chris (aka JUGGY) has probably been to every single one of our events - always supporting the crew, and never missing a beat on the dance floor. After being a longtime punter, Chris took to learning the art of mixing during lockdown, and along came JUGGY. 

JUGGY has found his musical niche in the realms of deep, minimal and micro house. He loves hunting down these tracks from producers around the globe, recently linking up with a handful of local legends who share a similar passion for these deep and groovy sounds. 

His mix is expertly crafted and ebbs between micro and deep house, with a little tangent into breaks. That's enough from us though, we'll let the music do the rest of the talking. Enjoy! 🍞 xx
