From filling stages such as the Royal Festival Hall to contributing film scores for Madonna's directorial debut, Koby Israelite has influunced experimental music the world over. A multi-instrumentalist composer, producer, songwriter and band leader Koby's musical discography is vast. With influences spanning from Metal to Gypsy to Jazz, Israelite's music is unique and compelling. Through John Zorn's 'Tzadik' label Koby Israelite has released four critically acclaimed albums, 'Dance of the Idiots' (2003), 'Mood Swings' (2005) 'Orobas' (2006) and 'Is He Listening?' (2009). 'King Papaya' his most adventurous record to date was independantly released in 2009 to rave reviews. Inbetween touring Israelite is currently co-writing and producing Lucy Randell's debut album and scoring music for feature films.

Lavach', ce sont quatre musiciens alchimistes partis de la Goutte d’Or pour transformer le monde sous une pluie de sons enivrants. 
Quatre enfants grandis dans ce quartier parisien de migrants dont ils ont fait leur source d’inspiration et leur base arrière, retour de leurs périples aux quatre coins de la planète – Colombie, Laos, Arménie, Algérie, Allemagne...
Sur leur carte d’identité se lit déjà un long parcours : origines arméniennes pour Sévane Stépanian (chant, accordéon), congolaises pour Adrien Rodrigue (violon), mexicaines pour François Roche-Juarez (guitare, trombone), polonaises pour Frédéric Birau Maliszewski (batterie). 
Tous franco de port d’attache, entre Barbès et La Chapelle, où ils se rencontrent au lycée, où ils ont commencé à écumer les bars il y a une dizaine d’années. « Ça a créé une belle énergie qui nous a nourris », rappelle Sévane. « Des Yougoslaves, des Africains, des Antillais, ça se mélangeait, ça sautait et dansait sur 'L’homme à la moto’. »

Fruit de cette première tension live, un premier album sort en 2002 sous le nom de Lavach', ce pain traditionnel arménien qui se partage morceau par morceau, quartier après quartier. Puis ce sera « Sérénade à la Mule » en 2006, et la nourriture des voyages et festivals jusqu’à ce « Jigouli Driver », leur disque le plus abouti à ce jour.

Barbès avait son orchestre national, la Goutte d’Or a Lavach'.

Relocating to France in 2002

Ghostown is a mixture of Trip Hop, late 90's Hip Hop, Dub + Electro, UK urban sounds with a Balkan and reggae influence and a touch of Tom Waits plus a splash of Brian Eno.
