Deluge can set the oscillator type to various waveforms (sine, square, triangle, etc.) but it can also set it to the incoming audio. This routes the input audio through the synth engine (filters, FX, delay, reverb) plus gives you access to all of the modulation sources (2 lfos, arpeggiator, envelope, random, ...).

I used a TRS cable to route the headphones output to Deluge's input creating a feedback loop then turned up the output volume and recorded the main outputs into my computer. Lots of resonant filter use, modulation, and delay line feedback to get tones and feedbacking signals.
