MARC HOULE UNVEILS ‘RESTORED’ REMIX ALBUM 	

Marc Houle is set to release a full remix package from his debut LP, Restore, featuring remix contributions from an all-star line-up of techno luminaries including Danny Daze, Harvard Bass, Julian Jeweil, Joris Voorn, M.A.N.D.Y., Popof and Marc Houle himself.

Originally released on Richie Hawtin’s Minus label a decade ago, Restore stands alone as Houle’s very first long-player and helped to establish his penchant for the quirkier side of techno and his superlative production skills. Spread across 11 tracks it encapsulated the dark, minimal, groove-driven sound purveyed by Hawtin and the rest of the Minus crew, while retaining a strong sense of Houle’s unique character and identity. Now it’s the perfect time to breath new life into an album that has stood the test of time, still utterly infectious and absorbing – a collection of music that captures an era of stripped back, yet captivating sounds. 

10 years since its release, the album is getting the remix treatment and Marc has called in some of the very best in techno talent to give Restore a fresh makeover. The selection of artists who’ve contributed to the ‘Restored’ project includes heavyweights such as Joris Voorn, M.A.N.D.Y. and Popof together with additional reworks from stars of the new generation such as Danny Daze, Julian Jeweil and Harvard Bass, all giving his tracks a new lease of life. In addition, Houle himself has also stepped up to offer a new contemporary take on his own music, collaborating with vocalist Genevieve Marentette on ‘Demor’.

The next EP on Desert Hearts Records comes from UK based producer, Holt Blackheath, who’s been on our radar the last couple of years putting out tracks on CUFF and MadTech Records. His EP titled Kick Back is a 3 track package including 2 originals from Holt and a remix from the UK homie, Kreature. The title track is a party anthem that embraces the Desert Hearts vibe to it’s core, not taking house music too seriously and just havin' a good ol' time. The B-Side, Switch, is a twisted night time chugger that acts as the perfect compliment to Kick Back. Finally, the EP is rounded out by Kreature’s 128 BPM tech house banger that’s akin to long nights we’ve had at Circoloco. Full force from start to finish, this is one of our favorite EPs that’s come out on the label so far.

Packed to the brim with percussive deliciousness and a bouncy bassline, the track grooves into a beautiful and dreamlike break, building big momentum before hitting you with full force. 

Second up is “Tipsy”, and it becomes clear this is an A-side only EP. “Tipsy” is fun and quirky, and most of all full of attitude. Tobi Kramer was introduced to music at a very early age. His father was a musician and mastered a number of musical instruments, so no wonder that Tobi was already enrolled in music school for a basic course on music education at age 6. A year later he moved on to guitar lessons and played acoustic, as well as later on, electric guitar for several years. Founding a band however didn’t really come to his mind as he gradually discovered his growing interest in electronic music. 
Mixing different tracks quickly started to fascinate him. At age 15 he bought his first DJ equipment and shortly after he started performing in clubs behind the decks. Well received, he was increasingly booked by local clubs and discotheques for spinning records. It didn’t take him long though to figure out that he got more interested in creating his own music. So more and more he concentrated on producing House and Techno tracks. Tobi then, at age 20, moved to Cologne to study audio engineering at the SAE Institute where he put his focus entirely on music production. 
Finally discovered by Oliver Koletzki thank to a remix contest for Stil vor Talent, Tobi Kramer became known to the world for the 2012 phenomenal remix of Format:B’s “Socks & Sandals”, which made him integral part of the Formatik Records family.
Since then, along with regular releases on Formatik and Stil vor Talent, he has also released on La Pera Records, Flashmob, Einmusika Recordings and many more well-known imprints of the scene. His songs and remixes got support from names like Mark Knight, Martin Solveig, Umek or Sébastien Léger.
