Rainy Day In Friedenau

The demo is inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's tale "The Masque of the Red Death". Prince Prospero flees with his entourage from the plague raging in the country to his castle. There the courtiers pass the time with frivolous celebrations. At the climax of a costume party a guest appears in the disguise of the Death. Everyone is outraged by this audacity, which hurts the feelings of the most hardened party guests. Then they realize that it is Death himself who has mingled with the guests and now demands his reap. The subject is sinister, the music is not.

Prince Prospero's Party

The song features Roland's first digital delay - the SDE 2000, in fact it was Roland's first digital effects unit ever. Timed delays are much better suited for songs with driving rhythms than reverb units. The style of the song is inspired by one of my favorite bands: Simple Minds.

Waterfront

This song features the famous Roland RE-201 Space Echo. The echo is on guitar, vocals (especially good to be heard in chorus) and the sax solo.
