The Assignment: Add a thin foundational bed to beats of pin-prick audio.

I worked with my original Disquiet 0215 track Tiny Rhythms. To create an ambient layer I created 3 additional tracks. First is a time stretched version (3x) of the original, second was created by passing that track through 2 bandpass filters (200z and 6000z), and third is that track pitch shifted down an octave. The three ambient tracks are layered under the original track.

Tiny Sounds, Thin Layers [disquiet0216-thinlayers]

Gerhard Zander's musical work started in the experimental field of electronic pop music. In the mid-seventies, he began experimenting with cassette and tape recorders. This was followed by autodidactical guitar studies and an extended interest in the use of fieldrecordings in music. From the 80s onwards he increasingly focused on working with synthesizers, from ca. 1984 on with computers and samplers. He has been working on several projects of improvised music since 2006. Currently, his main focus is the use of modular synthesizers and prepared instruments.

This is an account for various experiments and snipptes.

I create Ambient, Electronic, Jazz Fusion, and Blues music - sometimes melding any of those forms together. Instruments, field recordings, a rare voice, writing code, and whatever else might sound cool are used.
