The Encore Saxophone Quartet was founded in September 2010 as part of the Queen's University School of Music, as a chamber ensemble under the direction of Professor Peter Freeman. Since that time, the quartet has been a thriving part of the music scene both on and off-campus of Queen's University, playing at a variety of locations and functions, including the Grand Theatre, the Agnes Etherington Art Centre, and many other locations. The Encore Quartet is also the two-time recipient of the Queen's University Chamber Music Award as the top Chamber Ensemble in the School of Music, in both 2011 and 2012. This top-flight group has an extremely diverse and deep musical ability.

The Encore Saxophone Quartet is comprised of:

- Caitlin Barton: soprano saxophone
- Alysse Szatkowski: alto saxophone
- Nick Roy: tenor saxophone
- Carolyn Barr: baritone saxophone

This classical music podcast explores the history and lives of some of western classical music's most famous composers and musicians. Classical music is filled with very colorful personalities and riddled with drama of all kinds, from political intrigue to failed romances and everything in between.  Through the course of the show, we will discuss composers and musicians from the distant past all the way to the present, beginning with the greatest, JS Bach.
