This album means everything to me still. The first time I put it all on the line. Detailed my journey from mid-2018 to present. What started out as Vol. 2 of Evoking Emotions, turned into this. I produced on every record. I fell back in love with the artistry. I pushed myself vocally in a way I never have. I had fun, lost sleep, & even cried making these records. I was never fully transparent within my music, due to suffering from an inability to be real with myself & women in my life, to the point where I wasn’t even the first priority in my own life, expecting others to follow in my footsteps & propel my sounds & a movement that wasn’t truly “strictly organic” via my own projections. I had to get out of my own way, grow through life, fall on my face, cry, address my pride/narcissism, make changes, all that. I detailed everything from love/heartbreak within my life, to even how my situation with my father as a child being wrongfully convicted, serving 10 1/2 years impacted me as a man, playing a role in how I made decisions up until hitting the growth point. I healed & grew closer to God through this album, & it’s the first time I was NERVOUS. Nervous to let people hear the truth about my life in the most transparent way. Nervous to let fans hear the depths of my anxiety & past toxicity. Nervous that in a time when the majority is busy filling voids to cope w/ the times, I grew outta old habits to create this, & moved closer to happiness mid-pandemic when people may not have decided to press play & truly listen. This was the biggest risk I’ve ever taken, but it was every bit of a proper introduction into who I am. If you met me years ago & thought you “knew me” yet communication lacked at that time, you didn’t. My apologies for it taking so long to get to that point as a man & musician. Was never aligned or hyped for you to see & hear me do it the Appropriate way.
