Dan Chilton is a professional freelance audio engineer based in Springfield, MO offering Recording, Mixing, Mastering, & Live Sound engineering services.

Dan Chilton began his engineering career recording demos for his own band, The Marvelous Vernon. Soon, he was recording demos and records for local bands in the Springfield area including Knife Death, Holstein, The Quiet Type, The Gardenheads, We Are Like The Spider, The Nova Heat, & many more.  Dan has had the pleasure of working alongside the likes of Lou Whitney, Never Shout Never, Me Like Bees, The Mark Chapman Band, Candy Coburn, and more with an ever growing list.

Dan engineers primarily at Studio 2100 in Springfield, MO. Studio 2100 is owned and operated by Jeff Smith, and is one of southwest Missouri's best recording studios. Studio 2100 has a vast array of professional analog recording equipment from the likes of Rupert Neve, Universal Audio, API, Empirical Labs, Vintech, Neumann, AKG, and much more. The studio was purpose built from the ground up as a recording studio and is a fantastic place to make a great sounding record. Dan also has a home studio where mixing and mastering services (as well as light tracking) are the most cost effective. Projects can be tracked at Studio 2100 and mixed and mastered at the home studio to help reduce costs for the more budget minded clients. 

Dan Chilton is primarily a rock producer. I grew up in the 90's listening to the likes of Nirvana, Foo Fighters, STP, Tool, Rage Against The Machine, Jeff Buckley, Soundgarden, Led Zeppelin, Tom Petty, etc. My mixes definitely lean towards this dry, grungy sound. However, I am more than comfortable working on electronic music, country/western, and pop. No sonic vision is unattainable.
