Continuing their trailblazing ways, Cid Inc's Replug Records closes out the spring season by welcoming Mike Griego back to the label for a new EP.  Coming off the 2019 release of ‘Sienna' for Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, the Argentinean artist racked up an impressive 2020. Backed by a remix from Cid Inc, Mike's much hyped ‘Solaris' arrived in July via Replug, a track which now sits at the top of his Beatport best seller's chart. Rounding out the year in style, the Buenos Aires resident then debuted on Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, with the tastefully nostalgic ‘My Last Hope', a creation which anchored the label's ‘Winter Collection' long player. Now presenting his first new music of 2021, Mike lands back on Replug with a two-track showcase entitled ‘Dysbiosis'.

Always trending on the stylized spectrum of progressive music, ‘Dysbiosis' finds Mike capturing that rare combination of cutting-edge creativity and emotive musicality. Taking square aim at the dance floor are a backbone of charged beats and a wall of shapely, key changing bass.  Fiery percussion and lively rhythms lock down the groove further, as ghostly vocal wails and stunning effects trail across the stereo field. Sitting at the heart of the creation is a two-minute centrepiece, where a percussive blur melts down into an effervescent glow of melody and colour. Reflective in nature, these clustered notes ring out in timeless suspension, tastefully building to a finale that is both electrifying and elegant.

The companion piece 'Waste Of Time'' impresses further with its buoyant energy and vivacious storyboard. Warm, full and incredibly fluid, it's rolling groove and rhythmic pulses are transcendent, building momentum as hazy melodies delight with their fuzzy charm. Expediting the journey are layers of mesmerizing percussion and trailing effects, uniting for a hypnotizing drawl leading into a cosmic break, which ultimately preludes a groovy finish.

Mike Griego's long standing relationship with Replug has produced several of progressive music's most memorable moments. ‘Dysbiosis' once again follows suit, landing with impact and emotion, setting the course for one of the summer seasons most in demand releases.

PREMIERE: Mike Griego - Waste of Time (Original Mix) [Replug]

Operating out of his Brooklyn studio, Mike Isai is a new name to grace the Meanwhile catalogues as the Australian imprint delivers its 18th release with “Home / 87 North”. A single remix comes from fellow US artist, Forerunners.

A relative newcomer to the Progressive House scene, Mike Isai’s nascent production career has already seen a debut on the Nick Warren led, Hope Recordings, via September 2020’s “Pillars to Butterflies” EP. A March 2021 reworking of Shanil Alox’s “Algorithm” for Droid9 illustrated Isai’s remix capabilities, as the US star now debuts on Meanwhile with his twin-tracker.

Opening proceedings, “Home” is a dark and sultry piece that pulsates hypnotically through its near 9-minute voyage with a panoply of textured layers and white-noise effects. Quickly hitting its stride, a pounding kick is accompanied by an immaculately syncopated synth motif that provides the basis for a counterpoint phrase to sit elegantly on top in glittering repetitive pattern. Reaching a rousing filtered denouement at the mid-point, “Home” drops back into a familiar arrangement as all elements combine to impressive effect in the third movement.

Continuing the powerful rhythmic framework of its partner, “87 North” immediately impresses with its 16th note bassline and seismic kick. Another syncopated synth loop provides an imposing trademark production technique as haunting melodies drift over the mid-range, drenched in reverb and white-noise washes. Coruscating pads add further intrigue as the 7-minute piece evolves, coming fully to the fore in a ‘wall of sound’ breakdown, before the second half picks up the pace again with percussive intensity. The juxtaposition of meandering melodic threads and bassline urgency thus creates an impressively woven dynamism.

Another new artist to grace Meanwhile finds Arizona based Brenden LaBonte creating a potent wave of success with his Forerunners moniker. With over a double century of production credits to his name for some of the finest modern dance imprints, Sudbeat Music, Anjunadeep, and Black Hole have all played host to the US artist’s emotive soundscapes. Reworking “Home”, the Forerunners remix is chock full of the trademark soundscapes that characterise LaBonte’s work, with whispering melodies floating atop a powerful beat and ticking hi-hat groove. A relentless bassline sequence adds weight and poise over the 8-minute offering as subtle variations on Mike Isai’s original make their presence felt. Pausing for breath at a spine-tingling mid-point, cadenced bass groove and subtle melodic prowess hit the heights in the latter stages.

Curating their second release on the newly established independent imprint TAU, the Adana Twins are keen to support the best up-and-coming talent from a saturated DJ/Producer market. The second release showcases yet another rising star; Paris-based, Romanian born - BOg.

BOg first broke onto the electronic music landscape after being signed to John Digweed’s ‘Bedrock Records’. 12-years down the line he’s released on Dixon’s Innervisions & Solomun’s Diynamic, BOg is a constant in the record bags of DJs across the globe. Drawing strong influences from bands and artists such as Depeche Mode, The Prodigy, Aphex Twin or The Chemical Brothers, BOg’s ‘Terra EP’ has an evident other-worldly feel.

Innellea returns to TAU002 this time on remix duties, remixing ‘Terra’ and further cementing his position as a core artist on TAU. The B-side remix of ‘Jahar’ comes from Mathias Schober, chosen for the Adana Twins love his sound design and aesthetic, the producer delivers a remix rounding off the solid ‘Terra’ EP.

A producer with a rich artistic pedigree, Mehmet Akar quickly found himself making a sizeable impression in the underground dance fraternity. After success with his "Deep Sounds" and "2nd Resurrection" radio shows, the Turkish producer has hit the headlines with over 150 track credits for some of the industry's finest imprints. Moreover, as a winner of Sasha's "Cut Me Down" remix competition and a 2011 release on Last Night On Earth, Akar has gone on to see his music feature on Global Underground, Beatfreak Recordings, and Outside The Box. In October 2019 Prisma Techno challenged us to change our mood with 'Arkaine', a small VA containing three tracks signed by Carlos Pires & Hopper, Against The Time, and Viegas, all masterpieces of the Melodic / Hypnotic Techno that carry deep mystical meanings.

Now, a year after this release, 'Arkaine' is back in a series of twenty-two small VA's that explore the many layers of Tarot's esoteric symbolism. Through the union of Techno and Tarot, it's possible to create unexpected combinations and bring up hidden stories that reveal the flow of synchronicity present in the universe. At each release, three invited artists present his works inspired by the same Major Arcana card.

For this first release of the series, Aree, Copini, and Toigo sign productions in which they develop 'The Fool' theme. The meaning of this card is the divine spark, the highest reality of the Creator before your manifestation. It symbolizes the leap of faith in the unknown with the confidence that the universe will guide and support you. The journey through the Major Arcanas begins with 'The Fool' and ends with 'The World', a cycle that repeats itself infinitely in which 'The Fool' represents that initial step in this world, or a new chapter in life, showing the beginning of a new and exciting walking of discovery.

The VA's first music was produced by Francesco Aree, who returns to Prisma Techno after his 'Six Degrees' EP, in December 2019. Born in Napoli, southern Italy, he has already received supports from names like Maceo Plex, Tale Of Us, Agoria, Fideles and Blancah.

Next, we have the track that marks Pedro Copini's debut on the label. The young prodigy who has released on several Techno labels, spent time studying music production in Amsterdam before returning to Brazil and founding the Green House Club, focused on inserting Techno culture in his region, Toledo, Paraná.

Finally, we end this 'The Fool's trilogy by the hands of Rodrigo Toigo, a name already known by those who follow Prisma Techno. The Brazilian who currently resides in Sao Paulo has already participated in several releases, including his successful EP 'Escape from Paradise', as well as countless and striking performances at the label's showcases.

Life is full of mysteries, and many of them are inexplicable.
Within each one of us, The Fool lives.

Equally' Restructure' builds and builds. More insistent and darker from the off, it serves as a perfect mid set bruiser when everyone has found their space on the floor.
