Fides Records celebrates ten years of independent sound and vision with the monumental 41-track release “FIDES X – 10 Years of Fides”. The first 12” X1, set to release on 24th October sets the tone for the seven-part vinyl journey, opening with a powerful statement of intent.

UFO95 introduces “After Light Comes Shadow”, a bleep-infused 4/4 cut whose broken accents unfold into layers of cinematic tension. Z.I.P.P.O and Claudio PRC follow with “Marte Rosso”, a poetic excursion across Martian landscapes shaped by evolving pads and hypnotic grooves. D-Leria’s “Underwater” plunges deeper still, driven by relentless modular propulsion and immersive aquatic textures.

The B-side expands the spectrum. Stephanie Sykes & Dyad contribute an untitled roller infused with spiritual intensity and organ-like resonance, while BIMOL’s “Fragmento en La” twists cinematic atmospheres and industrial edges into broken rhythms guided by a haunting Spanish vocal. Bringing the record to a close, Decoder delivers “We Keep Lying To Ourselves”—a slow-burning, 808-driven piece of subtle progression and timeless elegance.

Live Recording - After O'Clock

Hannover-based  platform Synergie has been a steady contributor to the techno scene for the past 5 years. Birthed as a label & party series, they later began hosting track premieres & launched a mix series called Syncast which has over 270 episodes. The platform has an emphasis on the rawer, faster, groovier side of things & they really have their finger on the pulse for what’s bubbling up underneath the surface in their corner of techno. 

Up next on their label is an EP from Tommaso Arcuri, a producer from Empoli, Italy, a town on the outskirts of Florence. The release features 6 high-energy rollers that fit like puzzle pieces into different moments throughout the night. ‘Veleno Per La Mente III’ has this crystalline ear candy sound that starts right at the very beginning of the track & repeats throughout as a rhythmic accent. That little sound immediately reminded me of something from a sci fi movie, akin to a Star Wars blaster or a door of an air lock slamming shut. It’s the real hook of the track & your ear never tires of it. It almost feels like you can reach out & grab it out of thin air. The more you listen, the more it draws you into a state of eyes-closed hypnosis.

PREMIERE: Tommaso Arcuri - Veleno Per La Mente III [Synergie]

Person X (Sandro Loladze) – a Georgian artist and member of the 11th collective, whose work is distinguished by deep, hypnotic, and dark atmospheres. His sets are built on the refined energy of minimalism and shadowy textures, where the interplay of tension and release creates a unique musical experience.

His musical approach is grounded in meticulous attention to detail and the careful shaping of sound. Each performance becomes an experimental space where layers gradually unfold, guiding the listener into new dimensions. Person X’s style sets him apart on the contemporary electronic music scene as an artist capable of creating entirely new atmospheres while simultaneously establishing his own distinct and independent voice.

After releases by Phase &amp; Xhin, which left the techno scene with a pair of extra holes, Token now introduces its third release for 2012.
We introduce a new name: Ctrls, from Copenhagen, Denmark.
A new name, but not a new artist. Troels B-Knudsen is an ex drum &amp; bass head and earned his producer stripes throughout the years. He slowly made his transition to techno and last year him &amp; long time friend Lasse Buhl formed Northern Structures. To great acclaim, they released their first 2 EP's on Adam X's legendary Sonic Groove label.

2012 sees the start of a new chapter, his solo project: Ctrls.
His debut for Token is called 'Interface EP' and holds 3 powerful pieces in Ctrls' own style: hard edged, stripped down, metallic sounds, detailed drum programming and a mean low end.

With this first EP and a follow up in the works, we're excited to add Ctrls to the Token roster.

Beginning of 2012 Phase caused quite a storm in techno’s landscape with the release of ‘Binary Opposition’. Both versions, “Process 1 &amp; 2”, fierce pieces of relentless yet deep techno, got on heavy rotation by Blawan, Ben Klock, Surgeon, Marcel Dettmann, Dave Clarke, to name a few.
 
A few months later, we present ‘Binary Opposition Reprocessed’. Assembling a remix package for this project wasn’t a difficult task, as all remixers were noted fans of the original tracks and supporters of Phase as an artist.

Japan’s finest techno export is back. Since his last release for Token in 2010, Go Hiyama  has graced other heavyweight techno institutions like Stroboscopic Artefacts, Perc Trax &amp; Audio Assault. Now he returns to Token, following Phase’s highly acclaimed ‘Binary Opposition Reprocessed’ earlier this summer.

‘Arc One’ contains 3 tracks, each with a different timbre. ‘Farnsworth House’ focuses on hazy atmospherics over a stomping drum pattern, while ‘Dymaxion Map’ is a more of an instant heavy hitter with punishing percussion.
Go keeps the best for the flip side track. ‘Fallingwater’ builds slowly over a tough yet sophisticated off beat rhythm. Tension grows while the haunting noisy synths lead to a thrilling breakdown, after which it kicks back in ferociously.

Go Hiyama remains one the most interesting techno artists of the last decennium and continues to intrigue by reinventing his sound without losing that recognisable touch. I’m a fan, to say the least.

Rødhåd is one of the city’s most promising and talked about new artists of the last year. With only 2 EP’s on Dystopian (the label he helms with friends) & 1 remix on Semantica, that’s quite an achievement.

‘Spomeniks EP’ is his first release outside of Dystopian but preserves his deep & melancholic yet powerful style.

Apart from a rising producer & prolific dj, Rødhåd is a very down to earth guy with a strong vision and an open mind.

Definitely a match with anything Token stands for.
