This is a recording of a very special set I played during the silent retreat I put on with my friend Randi. It was called Reflections and the concept is to explore the space of a silent retreat while exploring movement in the form of yoga and dance while being supported by music. It was an extremely potent experience for all of us and this set in particular reached new levels of depth. Sam and I collaborated live with loops coming from some of my slowest tracks. You will probably be familiar with some of them and others will be new but the journey itself is quite unique in that it was totally improvised and Sam's presence lifted the experience into a heavenly bliss. I hope you enjoy this as much as we enjoyed it live.

Another dream came true as I played the Sunday noon set at Pyramid Yoga, the biggest Ecstatic Dance venue and event in Koh PhaNgan, where i've been dancing and living for many years.

I was so happy to see the people dance, jump, and shout to the wide-ranging journey of beats-infused world music I played.

A few highlights:
- Beats and Bass-infused vocals and music from Native-american, New-Zealand Mauri, Russian,  Tibetan, Amazonian, Aboriginal Australian, Indian, Turkish, Brazilian, Balkan,  and LOTS of African
- A traditional African acapella, an upbeat electronic remix of it, and samples that return many times during the whole journey
- A few other vocal and melodic African songs
- My newest track, a tribal remix of "Stone gods of Bimini", by Ixtahuele

“The Human Experience” is David Block’s principal project as a live 
electronic composer, multi-instrumentalist, producer. Listeners 
experience a delicious symphonic blend of prismatic soundscapes and
sultry beats.

Rising Appalachia and The Human Experience met many years ago on the shores of southern India. After spearheading each of their own unique musical paths, they have joined forces to birth a soulful new electro/acoustic collaboration, merging sounds from around the world in an elaborate artistic love-child of beats, voice, banjo and bass. "Soul Visions" is their first step in the long journey of bringing together electronic music and soul, folk and ballads, bass rhythms and swamp-womp in an effort to bridge worlds through aural exploration. "Soul Visions" speaks to the lover and the dance floor, the ritual holder and the song collector and the visionary and the shadow-worker... bringing deep root sounds into a highly mechanical world.
