Premiere: Regularfantasy ‘Maybe Nevermind’

Produced in the depths of quarantine and finally slated for release, Majorettes’ new single “The Waves”. Born from a journey inspired a documentary on the art of sampling, the track was an ongoing project which became a lifeline for Majorettes throughout the long days of the pandemic in the absence of playing out and organizing parties which are so core to the group and the wider Brooklyn house scene they are figureheads of. 

Enlisting three rising peers and producers to rework their original, the trio have curated a stellar EP package to soundtrack fall 2022 and beyond, with some of the most exciting and ones to watch talents in the international underground house scene hailing from Mexico, Colombia and Brooklyn respectively. 

Por Detroit resident and Mexico City upstart Kodemul, delivers a body shaking, exhilarating rework pumped full of energy, rhythmic swirls and fills, and a spell-binding breakdown worthy of any dance floor. “We were blown away by Kodemul’s style and production from the moment we met and many of his tracks have become staples in our sets recently so it was only fitting that we got him on board for this project”. 

Colombian artist, producer, and DJ, ELO, also know as Leeon, is an integral part of Medellín’s dance scene as well as the American underground at large. His rave brake with such grace that it feels extremely fresh and like an old friend at the same time. “While hanging out in the field at Glasontbury’s Block9 this past summer nerding out over each others new productions we knew it would be perfect to have him bring his impeccable style to “The Waves”. 

Brooklyn-based artist PH Balanced takes “The Waves” into an ethereal realm with bubbling vocal effects, pungent pads, and plenty of twists and turns that are smooth, sexy and surprising all at once. “Everyone always ask to hear the PH Balanced remix over and over, you just don’t want it to end. He has such a unique presence in our scene here as both a dj and producer and we can’t wait for the world to soak up his brilliance”.

Majorettes - The Waves

Wiltshire-born, Manchester-based Tom Jarmey (aka Ocean Stirs and one half of Mother Of Pearls) delivers the second chapter in his latest project, Wing Theory. Following releases on Holding Hands and Dansu Discs, whilst garnering attention from the likes of Four Tet, Bicep, Jossy Mitsu, Anz and Or:la, Jarmey’s latest EP explores brand new territory in an eclectic mix of both dance-centric and home-listening tracks.

Spanning 9 minutes, EP opener ‘Heated Silence’ takes the listener on an off-kilter, synth-laden journey through peak-time crescendos and fuzzy ambience. ‘Fog Runs Deep’ steers the record into deeper territory, providing a gritty, textural roller built for dark basements. Flipping the mood on its head, ‘Towering Mountain’ mixes ear-candy vocals from Holly Wilks with growling basslines and crisp drum work. ‘Flock Of Sparrows’ takes another turn—half-time breaks and swelling soundscapes create the darkest track of the EP. Rounding everything off, ‘Trill’ provides an emotional ascent into shimmering ambience.

Her worries began to crumble as the pink sky shed light on the tapestry-covered tent. It was on that day that the beating sound separated emotions of discontent from reality and forced her into a new realm built for that very moment. There she entered a new realm of friendship, love and euphoria that didn’t exist anywhere else...

Fast rising DJ and producer Jay Carder makes her mark on Kassian's Faux Poly imprint with her debut EP Entropy, a deep dive into UK bass, techno and breakbeat. Her connection to these sounds is key to her musical energy and ethos, which she's steadily built over the last eight years. Getting her start throwing events with collective 4 To The Floor London, Carder now holds a residency for London-based Voyage events and runs her own party series ‘House of Carder’ which has hosted the likes of Bruce, Breaka, Dr Banana and K-Lone.

effgee releases the third EP on his imprint fellice – Deep House meets Jazz with a warm, analogue touch. The three tracks featured include various production approaches: “New Disco Groove” evolved over time from a more Disco sounding track into a groovy and dreamy Deep House trip, whereas “Pain & Wine” and “Lying to yourself” take things in a slightly more Jazzy direction. “Lying to yourself” also contains recordings from effgee’s live drumming, with an emotive, Jazz influenced break beat groove.
