Brighton based producer & singer/songwriter sees herself not as a painstakingly musical craftswoman but as a symbol of unabashed, unconventional creativity. Celebrating the imperfect, her music conjures up melodic soundscapes drenched in layers of reverb. Her sombre and melancholic vocal harmonies and melodies are interspersed with discordant guitar riffs and lo-fi production. I also tinker with other less sad sounds. 

Figs cites influences such as The Breeders, Sibylle Baier, Mika Miko, Beck, Lizzy Mercier Descloux and Girls at Our Best! as major sources of her musical inspiration.

Oh So Quiet started out as a solo home project for Argentine-born Lucas Zavala. Feeling too shy to sing some of his songs, Lucas asked his sister, Malena, to fill in. They play indie rock sounds incorporating some of the syncopated rhythms and timbres of the Latin Americas.
