Colombia is going through one of the harshest economical and political crises in the last 30 years. COVID, state violence and increasing poverty have unleashed social protests with millions of citizens disapproving of President Duque's tax reform. Although held back, protests continued and Colombia's deep wounds have yet again resurfaced as inequality, racism and violence have been shown to be the system's true colors. The government's response to the social movement has been that of extreme brutality; massacres, rapings and human rights violations have been daily bread. Colombia and all the people who've been fighting for their rights need our help.

“ALL EYES ‘N' COLOMBIA’’, a VA conformed by 22 tracks and 28 artists, aims to be a humble but meaningful part of that help; an astonishing compilation fully merged into delightful electro, ghettotech, acid, breaks, idm bombs all gathered, mastered and served to the table in less than two weeks. All in order to raise the most funds possible during these hard days of fight and to spread the word in our music and artistic international community of what’s happening here in Colombia. 100% of the earnings will go to various press, health care, food and human rights local organizations. We highly encourage u all, dear BogoLovers, to grab a copy of this must have masterpiece VA and at the same time stand out against violence, oppression, corruption and death in support of our colombian brothers in fight. This mix is really just an acknowledgement of my lifelong love of arpeggiators and excitement for this new wave of arpeggiated synth stuff combined with some deeper drones and desert psych influences. I’m living totally off grid way out in the Mohave desert near Joshua tree, where this mix was recorded. My studio is solar powered ( no other option out here), there’s an exhilarating feeling to know that the photons running through the circuit boards of my machines emanated from the surface the Sun just 8 mins and 20 seconds prior. Of late, I’ve been more focused on my band ‘The Acid’ and pursuing my lifelong dream of living off grid and figuring out how to build a house than DJing. Incase you missed it we ( The Acid) put out a debut album called ‘Liminal’ and more recently we scored a documentary film ‘the bomb’ a documentary about the story of nuclear weapons. We have been touring film festivals, performing the score in a 360 immersive environment live to the film. In December we performed it live at the Nobel peace prize ceremonies in Oslo which was in incredibly inspiring and moving experience for me. Back in 2016, Skee Mask and Zenker Brothers spontaneously attempted to play together at an afterparty in Prague, but after ten minutes the electricity failed. Two years later they finally had the opportunity to play a joint extended set for the first time - at Unsound Kraków 2018. The three DJs closed Saturday night in Hotel Forum with an expansive set building on adventurous forms of techno, jungle and broken beat, combining the collective interests of Ilian Tape. The set kicked off at 4am in the Ball Room.

DJ GIRL’s latest EP on Planet Euphorique “Slsk Trax” shows us how it’s done with four head-turning techno-transanthems, bass bins bursting at the seams with fast & furious innovative aural onslaught. The Chicago based producer offering no zoom, main room, (more than) four to the floor visceral punishment of the highest pleasures. 

Immediate assault in the form of A1; “And the Crowd Howls” unstoppable rapid, rhythmic voltage racing through your veins, pulsating like the most dramatic, dark dancefloors should. Sliced with electro injections interrupting the hypnotizing drumwork, snapping you in and out of altered states, invoking vivid imagery of flickering smoke and sweat. Following the intoxicating opener, “The Runaround'' beams up to otherworldly tech-territory, a deliciously syncopated bass line rumbling below disciplined running snares, DJ GIRL eradicating expectations, her addictive percussive spontaneity and mutation of conventional structure nothing short of exhilarating. 

A 7 minute “Tunnel Vision” initiation on the B side starts with swirled panned percussion, a gritty foundation paving the way for scorched screeches and additional demented drums demanding your undivided attention. Rising and dropping, a fluidity and expertise in tension with subtlety amongst the filth. Closing up shop and slamming the door is the B2 “Untitled”, a fierce electro encore. Minimalistic instrumentation turns into an encompassing sphere of sonic evolution through processing and modulation. Metallic delays flair and decay over squelched tones and boot stomping kicks and claps.

PE014 comes dripping in saturation, DJ GIRL’s Detroit roots are infused into the indisputable groove seeping through the record, elevated by her subliminal, sapphic style, a personal touch that unleashes the freakiest of dancers.
