Originating in the mid-1960s, "Psychedelic art" refers to the art movement of the late 1960s counterculture, featuring highly distorted or surreal visuals, bright colours and full spectrums and animation (including cartoons) to evoke, convey, or enhance psychedelic experiences. Psychedelic visual arts were a counterpart to psychedelic rock music. Concert posters, album covers, liquid light shows, liquid light art, murals, comic books, underground newspapers and more reflected not only the kaleidoscopically swirling colour patterns of LSD hallucinations, but also revolutionary political, social and spiritual sentiments inspired by insights derived from these psychedelic states of consciousness. A two hour trip of sonic psychedelia for this month’s mix.

Unreleased? Im now sharing this deep mix I've been sitting on for many months. I guess I was ultra self critical and never released it after originally recording. After re-visting it recently, Ive decided I was being silly so Im now pushing how into the interwaves for your listening pleasure.  

If recall correctly. At the time of making this recording, I started with my favorite artist, Gil-Scott Heron, for an intro and just flowed into this mix from the deepness he set forth. Have a nice listen. Thanks!

Something a little different again this time. The mix started off as a sort of 'warm up' promo thing but after an hour i decided to keep going with it and see what happened. Starts off around 90bpm and moves up to around 118bpm. More of a disco influence in some of the tracks then in previous mixes. 

My aim was bum wiggles. Hopefully it gets some.

Lorsqu'on a appris qu'il avait quitté la Californie pour s'installer à Marseille, il ne nous a pas fallu très longtemps pour inviter Grant à jouer au Cabaret Aléatoire en juillet 2019 et lui proposer par la suite un projet spécialement pensé pour la warehouse marseillaise. Dans une interview pour XLR8, on apprend qu'il lui a fallu 15 ans de travail en studio avant de pouvoir aboutir à son projet musical actuel. Un travail de longue haleine dont résulte notamment la création de deux labels, The Lauren Decall et Duke's Distribution, ainsi qu'à deux albums remarqués sur le label Lobster Theremin : Cranks et le récent Fantasy Blues. Sa vision de la house croise le jazz et la lo-fi, c'est une deep house oscillante, précise, avec des sacrés traits de caractère. Grant envoie des ondes positives et chaleureuses dans ce mix exclusif pour le Club Cabaret at Home.
