Woody Shaw, Jr. (December 24, 1944 – May 10, 1989) was an American virtuoso trumpeter, flugelhornist, cornetist, composer and band leader, described by NPR Music as "the last great trumpet innovator".

Shaw is regarded as one of the great jazz band leaders and innovators of his generation. Born with a photographic memory and perfect pitch, he was considered to have been generations ahead of his time.

Andrew Trim is a guitarist and composer. 

Born on the western coast of Lake Michigan, Trim spent his early years learning to speak English and playing with superhero toys in the Chicago area. Following a memorable 5th year birthday celebration complete with superhero cake, his family packed up everything they owned and moved across the Pacific ocean to Japan where he spent the remainder of his childhood learning Japanese and training to be a ninja warrior. In his spare time, Trim also began his music education by learning piano at his mother’s behest, playing melodica and recorder in school, and singing in church. When the piano got too serious, Trim switched to drums and later guitar. 

Years later, after graduating music school, Trim returned to the place of his earliest memories and set up shop in Chicago. These days, he can be found regularly working with some of the most talented and unique musicians in the region and creating everything from mind-altering improvised flights to tightly contained, composed melodies. His instrumental projects - a quartet called Hanami and a trio called Dim Lighting - are the primary vehicles for his expressions. 

Trim also plays guitar with bands Rock Falls and Aluminum Group, and continues to cultivate relationships with musicians from his time at the University of Colorado - many of whom have relocated to other metro areas like Los Angeles and New York. He also finds time to play straight-ahead jazz around Chicago in between other projects. 

Critics have described Trim’s music as having a “ potent mix of sonic fluency and cinematic ambiance" (Dave Sumner, Bird is the Worm) and labeled his group’s “patient approach" as “undeniably luxurious." Trim’s guitar playing has also been singled out for its “lovely underwater guitar tone - which - softens the edges of his lines but retains a gentle bite." (Peter Margasak, Chicago Reader). When not playing music, Trim enjoys spending time with his wife and son, reading, bike riding, record shopping, cooking, and exploring the food culture in Chicago and beyond.


..Saxophonist/Composer/Multi-Instrumentalist, Jesse Catalino Montijo began earning the attention of his colleagues and mentors at an early age when he received the prestigious Clark Terry Scholarship for outstanding soloist at 14 years old.

..Jesse has performed with several Grammy Award winning artists, including iconic Blues Legend, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown,  Jazz Trumpeter, Roy Hargrove, Latin Pianist/Big Band Leader, Arturo O'farrill and Ibanez Guitar Artist/Producer, Larry Mitchell.  Additionally, Jesse has also performed with Trombonist, Fred Wesley, renowned Musical Director for James Brown’s famous backing unit “the J.B.’s”, and Sam Mayfield; Musical Director for Grammy Award winning iconic Soul Legend, Solomon Burke.

..Jesse is also part  of a very small handful of saxophonists aroundthe world that performs Flamenco.. For two years he toured and performed with Yjastros, the American Flamenco Repertory Company, and was a performer at the 20th Anniversary of  the ‘International Festival Flamenco’ in 2006, which additionally  hosted Manuela Carrasco, Israel Galvan,  Antonio Canales, Pastora Galvan, El Torombo, and many other Iconic Flamenco Artists.

..Jesse studied extensively with Saxophone Legend Eddie Harris, Jazz Pianist Joe Bonner, and Master Drummer/Percussionist Jimmy Hopps. These Iconic Musicians are renowned for their recordings and performances with Music Legends Jimi Hendrix, Pharoah Sanders, Bo Diddly, Freddie Hubbard, Richard Davis, Elvin Jones, Stanley Clarke, Ron Carter, Stanley Turrentine, Les McCann, Woody Shaw, and Rahsaan Roland Kirk, to name a few.

..Additionally, Jesse was mentored by Pulitzer Prize Winner Phyllis Laursen; Lyricist for multi Grammy winners, Sting, Bobby McFerrin, and Wynton Marsalis.

..With varying styles of music ranging from Blues, Soul, Flamenco, and Jazz, Jesse has a vast music vocabulary that spans over 25 years of performance experience. His playing has deep roots, fueled with passion and executed with precision.
