Pasteleira EP is the second release from the Archermano duo and is set to come out on September 8 via their own O Sótão Records imprint. Techno music maniac Tomás Archer and the creator of the O Sótão platform Francisco Esp. have been expanding their love for electronic and progressive music into production duties resulting in the Psalms EP, released in 2021.

Their second project is named after the neighbourhood they grew up and live in, a demographically diverse area in Porto which blends high all the way to low classes in a small part of town, much like the rest of the city. Currently known as the main drug hub in the north of Portugal, Pasteleira has been the focus of national news outlets due to the increasing population of homeless people struggling with addiction, with many traveling the country to get a regular fix and survive. Since late 2019, and subsequently heavily impacted by the pandemic, this phenomenon has created a situation in which two vastly different worlds, are confronted.

This work tries to depict that from the perspective of two guys in their early 30's, as their neighbourhood changes and their youth starts disappearing. Pasteleira EP is a 5-track coming-of-age record that pays homage to where they come from: the expressions they use, the nightclubs they go to, the culture that pervades them, and their neighbourhood, just as it is at this point in time, without any judgment.

Genuinely one of our favourite DJs, Magda’s ability to work grooves loaded with funk, machine or otherwise, is second to none. From the minimal-era of the mid 2000s to now, she’s remained at the cutting edge of dance music while never losing her innate ability to move a dancefloor.

Transitioning from the successful 2 Years EP (O Sótão Records, 2023), Tiago Fonseca aka @tiagoaf became an up and coming Producer and DJ based between Lisbon and Porto. On the back of gigs at some of the best clubs in the country, he also transitions from Tiago A.F. to TGZ (sounding Tigz) as his moniker for what’s to come ahead. Long Shape, his latest project, is O Sótão’s first vinyl release, and the first to be delivered with higher standards of professionalism. Learning the trade, the processes, the timeframes, the costs, and having just completed 10 years of existence. A good time to go a bit deeper.

Long Shape will drop on March 21st. Vinyl might be only available a bit later. It will be a landmark moment for us, being Tiago’s most complete work to date, and a better representation of his rich musical influences, expanding it, as we speak, to another level. It’s also been 10 years for O Sótão, so there’s that too. To sum up, I’m just very glad that Long Shape sounds exactly where we would like to be after all this time, with a quick image of a nite-lit skyscraper cutting into a couple of rocks being dropped in the coolest whiskey glass, and the people warming up to a dream.

After fifteen solid releases, breakthrough label Items &amp; Things has a proven record of speed and precision in their ability to charge into the cutting edge electronic music market. This summer Magda, Troy Pierce, Marc Houle and the gang will take a graceful leap into a smorgasbord of original tracks with their first collective compilation out on July 13, 2012.

The four-piece vinyl box set is called VARIABLES, and comes in elaborate design and packaging, featuring a die-cut box from special textured material and 180g cream-colored vinyls. The track listing includes heavy hitting contributions from new friends, familiar faces, and Items &amp; Things artists alike.

For this compilation, Items &amp; Things invites a few new friends to shake things up. The New York hyped Throne of Blood creators Populette and Playhouse’s stylish electro dream team, Rework, whip up a special exceptional batch for their first label appearance.

Label compadres Jimmy Edgar, Miro Pajic and Andy Martin will make their second appearances on the compilation. Detroit phenomenon Jimmy Edgar first released the "Funktion Of Your Love" EP on I&amp;T in 2009, while Andy Martin took part in the "Various Items" release in 2011. Earlier this year, Berlin-based producer talent Miro Pajic also appeared on the B-side of Marc Houle’s "Undercover" single with his remix.

On the home team roster, Tomas More, Click Box, Madato, Danny Benedettini and newcomers Howard Watson and NYMA surprise us with a few new tricks as they unleash their summer sounds.

Each track is fresh, fun and tailored to the summer season, bearing unique and funky musical traits unearthing the producers’ personalities. Naturally, a compilation of such high caliber wouldn’t pass through without a corresponding mix CD and for that, Items &amp; Things has put Magda on the job. The mix CD will come out as a separate release on July 27. Furthermore, all tracks will be made available as individual digital download.

As part of the VARIABLES release, Magda, Marc Houle and other compilation artists will head out to the sandy bar and club spot Ressort on July 29, 2012, overlooking the Spree in Berlin-Mitte to celebrate the release. A barbeque will kick off the festivities on the sundeck in the afternoon, later shifting bodies to the dance floor inside where the artists will play until the next morning. The portuguese scfi maker Nørbak is back home after his Faktor EP from January 2019. These non clubbing days look like the perfect scenario for listening to long distance works, so here you have this brand new album to enjoy at your private soundsystem.

Flesh to Ashes will be released both physically and digitally, with an extra track on the downloadable version.

Nørbak is well known for his precision and deepness, always pushing forward production wise, focusing on the details and sound design aspects.


The album gravitates between beatless cuts, broken beats, profound exercises and virtual dancefloor weapons.
