“My Silver Unicycle” began as the first track Blankets and I made together in 2009. It was originally planned to be an instrumental track since I was tired of recording vocals and wanted to make an instrumental set that combined neopsychedic rock with hip hop. “Love is Called to All,” which I released as an open collaboration track and David Lee Louthan recently added vocals to, was the second instrumental track Blankets and I recorded for the set. I decided to add vocals to “My Silver Unicycle” approximately 3 years ago, probably after completing “Let’s Do It (All Over Again)” with Weighty Tree. I never released the track because I decided I wanted to focus on releasing collaborative tracks with people active in the  SoundCloud community. Eventually I couldn’t access the original stems to “My Silver Unicycle” due to old DAW issues and this track just sat there in limbo. I decided to release this track now because I can’t seem to complete any new tracks. Lol. So there ya go. 

The photo is taken from a party I had at my old house. I used to invite all my musician and artists friends over and we would play live music, paint and draw on the wall, read poetry, and cook together. It was fun.  

Huge blessing to Blankets for all the music we made together, a lot of which still has never been released on any platform. And big thanks to Russell Sinfield at the Chaos Cookhouse for mixing and mastering this track on the quick style with only an instrumental stem and 3 of my vocal stems. It was originally supposed to be lo-fi any ways.
