Metropolitan Soul Museum are proud to host on their next Kulture Galerie show on Milan's Radio Raheem a Detroit and Global legend: John Beltran. His early work on Carl Craig's seminal Retroactive imprint sculpted a Detroit classic with hints of Derrick May, world music, and Jazz vibrations. He followed up in 1996 on Peacefrog with arguably one of the most sought after techno classics "Ten Days of Blue," which is still John's most successfully licensed music with songs like "Collage of Dreams" being used in the Miramax film Human Traffic and the HBO hit Six Feet Under.  

The London based duo is a huge fan of John's music and can not wait to share what he has in store for Kulture Galerie, both as a mix series and as a label....

It may not be for everybody but Dub Techno when it's done well, is up there, in the higher echelons of electronic music. You wont really get it until you hear it on a proper sound system,  it just doesn't work on a phone or laptop. You cant flick through it either.  You have to let the tracks breathe and do their thing.  Put it on loud and let it do its thing

Russell E. L. Butler has been making waves in the Bay Area music scene for years. Within a series of innovative projects they’ve explored everything from minimal synth and EMB, to stripped down machine techno that evolves rapidly with each successive release.

With their latest album a reflection on a utopian world where “an idealistic space for the community” is dreamt; “ a space to dream in this frantic, late capitalist system,” Russell’s sonic focus has shifted to directly face the futuristic: drawing upon experimental electronics, warped vocals and playful, percussive house  - all of which can be found in this hour-long offering for our mix series.
