Finally, I can talk about this - my debut album Human is coming next year, March 10. This is the first single from it, Adrift, with my long running vocal collaborator Kathrin deBoer. I had a simple piano chord progression and a randomised percussion idea to give to Kathrin, who captured the feeling beautifully with her lyrics and jazz influenced vocal approach. It's more of a personal piece of music for me than a club track, which is the approach I've taken for the whole album.

Landside is an Elecronic Music Project between the Italian producers Hunter/Game and the Icelandic band Kúra.
The sound comes from a deep vibe and melanchonic ambients (The Silence).
It evolves thanks to Kúra’s Electronic and Dub mood, to an intense rhythm flow (The Storm).
While keeping groove as its main element, coming from Techno and House Roots of Hunter/Game Background.

Tiga is back to tell you what you’ve always needed to hear with his new single “Eye Luv U.” Co-produced by one half of Paranoid London, the new single harnesses all the pure source energy of what enlightened club-goers often describe as their favourite emotion.

“The title came to me while I was playing a pyramid that had been converted into a multi-purpose event space,” says the Canadian DJ/Producer. "The hieroglyphics over what is now the coat check made me imagine a world in which pictures could mean words and words could mean anything. The thing about wordplay is that it’s fascinating to conceive of different realities informed by different systems of meaning, and how each reality would invariably bend to vault me to the pinnacle of all possible worlds. It’s humbling, really.”

Rising Scottish talent Jasper James darkens the tone considerably on his remix, which would not be out of place at a classic off-the-grid warehouse rave. But not so fast, because Butch’s equally great “80s Warehouse Acid Remix” also lays claim to that warehouse, challenging what it means to be “warehouse” in an age when corporations pay people to throw parties in what used to be underground settings.

“Warehouse is a state of mind,” adds Tiga helpfully. “It’s that indescribable feeling that transports you back to the first time you read an oral history about dance culture. I read one sponsored by Mountain Dew about three years ago, and I’ve never looked back.”

The dreamy mountains flickered in the sunlight as the plane moved slowly through the early morning sky. Up high ready meals were being served and the mutter of conversation travelled dreamily in the confines of the flying tin can. Soon they would land at yet another tropical destination but for now they simply cruised amidst the deep blue expanse. Some were scared of flying but not he, he embraced the freedom which the air offered and pondered the day in which he might be able to lead such a flight. 

LAARS is the next to release on the consistently relevant Full Pupp, the record label run by Prins Thomas and Stevie Kotey. He takes us on a journey full of cosmic madness, house and groove galore.

Muyu  [XII Series]

This was a really fun project to work on right the way through. It started with some glitchy beats and a couple of big basslines I was messing around with, with a general idea of a deep but almost overpowering feeling. Kathrin came to my little studio in London and we talked a little about the idea, before she just let go and free-style sang over the loops, using my crappy little test mic I bought for 12 pounds in 2002.

The plan was to lay down some melodic ideas for the vocals, which I could then select, and send back to Kathrin to write lyrics with and re-record properly. But when I ran through everything after I released she'd just nailed it right then and there! All I had to do was layer up some of the multiple instances of her voice, and add my reverbs and widening with some subtle EQing and compression, and it was there - she captured the pure feeling of the music and enhanced it a million times, and I love the free-flowing feeling of it, with its imperfections and half words, and of course, he subconscious vocal of not feeling any more lead to the title and concise concept for the music.

We knew that we had to get a video made to match Kathrin's work, and I was really excited to find out that Henning M. Lederer, who I had been a big fan of for some time, could do the project. We discussed options together and decided to try a "numbed by the capitalist machine" theme, which he has developed into an amazing, detailed story with a twist. I love the result, I hope it works for you too! - The video will be released in a few days, I'll put the link HERE when it's ready!
