This is the duo's first collaboration. For this, Lorena Quintanilla’s voice, of the Mexican psych/shoegaze legend Lorelle Meets the Obsolete, brings new dreamy sounds. As Remezcla stated, Le 1991’s new track "lands in the middle of ethereal bliss and noisy dissonance. Contrasting layers of fuzzy guitars and punishing drums against gauzy, otherworldly vocal harmonies, the result is a remarkably cathartic dose of rock distortion and a towering ode to their collective influence in psych and shoegaze. ”.

Hi we are Layer Cake – the band you didn’t see coming like that dollop of tomato sauce in Paul Kelly’s gravy recipe.

Our debut self titled EP released in 2019 was compared (by oh so many) to pop rock favourites such as The Strokes, Vampire Weekend and The Beatles – however you can compare us to whoever you like, as long as they are incredibly more successful than us and we can live vicariously through an over fluffed complimentary comparison.

Layer Cake’s return to glory in 2021 comes in the form of yet another self proclaimed smash hit slice of cake called Tomorrow’s Happiness - Coming atcha full of sweetness and that extra tang!

Devon Williams is back with a new EP named "Out of Time." Redolent with the feelings of isolation, impatience and dread common to all of us during these days of pandemic, "Out of Time" is the product of spending lockdown away from home, adding to the sense of dislocation. According to Williams: "...the ideas of running out of time, feeling stagnant, self-doubt came through in different ways in these songs."

The EP focuses on the dreamier side of Williams' blend of folk and power-pop, calling to mind such inspirations as Felt, The Church and Teardrop Explodes. Lead single "La La La La II" is a new version of a key tune from 2009's "Euphoria" album and a perfect showcase for Devon's rich, melodic songcraft. Amidst the chaos of 2021 "Out of Time" is a much-needed antidote, a soothing melodic tonic for our times.

A staple of Philadelphia’s indie rock scene, Tom Lugo’s dark, heartfelt and edgy  productions are an intricate blend of indie pop songwriting, post punk aesthetics, and psychedelic undertones. 
He is the owner of the independent record label Patetico Recordings, the mastermind behind the Popnoise Festival, as well as being involved in a variety of musical projects which include Stellarscope, MAYU, Heliocentric Overdrive, Cielo Oceano, Dreams Turn Black, and more. Previous bands: Under the Wire, SUPER TOYS, ShiShi, Drowning Dreams, Arnold Layne, Euthanasia, and  more.
