After a crazy year, the city is brewing with new energy. This set was brought to life at a private rooftop event celebrating New York's comeback, and welcoming the summer months. 

I wanted to express New York's diversity by selecting songs from around the world. It celebrates sounds from South Africa, Bulgaria, Brazil, Cameroon, Colombia, Spain, Italy, France, and of course the US from the West Coast to the deep South. 

The mood is upbeat and bouncy, and works both for daytime and night-time vibes. Hope that you enjoy it, and that you have a wonderful start to the summer!

As always, taking inspiration from those around me, events in my life and the glorious and amazing music producers and DJs out there, here is a well overdue mix for you, my friends. *Songs With Words* — It's been three long years since I've released a set and while I don't know what I've been waiting for, luckily something about this one felt a bit different. During a week of relentless work, this was my first moment of play. As the clock struck midnight on Tuesday evening we were in the midst of a wild ride: from Diplo and Carlita at sunset, to Unders at sunrise, I had the pleasure of bridging the night amongst a sea of friends and familiar faces. Sometimes in the land of singing computers, it's nice to hear a few songs with words.

SPACIOUSNESS

Tommy started DJ-ing in the late 90's when he was moving between Cape Town and London. This was an incredible time to get into electronic music in Africa and in Europe. Since then he has amassed bags of experience by traveling the world and by opening up to the University of Life. Tommy’s sees his sound as a global snapshot of this beautiful world's music and cultures. He believes that the music we share today was born from Millions of years of Joy and the gathering of our ancestor's. It sits deep in our DNA. Tommy is an avid Afrika Burner, with  ‘Loki the Rhino support crew' and sharing music from the top of Loki the Rhino is his happy place. His favorite times to play are sunset and sunrise. But occasionally he can be heard deep into the dark of night. See you on the dance floor!
