Every month, Laidback Luke hosts an exclusive one-hour show, taking you on a magical journey back to the golden era of dance music and celebrating its incredibly history, while sharing a bunch of his most memorable stories.

This month, Luke puts the spotlight on the pioneers of French dance music: Daft Punk. The show is filled with both Daft Punk’s very first remixes, right up to their all-time hits. On top of that, he’s also bringing a tribute to the artists that made Filter Disco and French-House music popular again. 

‘By the beginning of the nillies, I got signed by Virgin. The same label as Daft Punk,’ Laidback Luke said, ‘I was starting the promotion for my album Electronic Satisfaction and within that trajectory, I toured with some new and upcoming French acts like Fenix and Superfunk. Fafa Monteco from Superfunk, who was from Paris, was good friends with Daft Punk, so Virgin let me make a remix for Superfunk. That caught the attention of Pedro Winter, Daft Punk’s manager, but also from Daft Punk themselves. So, by the time Discovery came out they asked me to do an official remix for the Daft Club-album.”

Last Tuesday (09/11), Luke put the spotlight on a Dutch dance act formed by the DJs and producers Paul Bäumer and Maarten Hoogstraten, better known as Bingo Players. The show was filled with their music and personal stories Luke has experienced with the Dutch duo. On top of that, their breakthrough track, the collaboration with Diplo and many other songs of Bingo Players, got played.

Best known for his single 'Clarity', which featured vocals from British singer-songwriter Foxes. The single entered the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, sold 2,238,000 copies and was certified platinum, making it Zedd's most successful single to date. Zedd has already had the opportunity to work with some of the biggest artists in the industry such as Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, Troye Sivan, Maren Morris, Kehlani and many more.

This month Luke put the spotlight on the former number 1 DJ, producer, and label boss: Hardwell. Robbert van de Corput is a Dutch DJ, producer, remixer, label boss, and filmmaker with a long-lasting legacy within the electronic music world. In Autumn 2018, after more than a decade of touring the world, the king of big room announced he would be taking a sabbatical from touring to spend more time with friends and family. On Monday, March 28, Hardwell officially announced his return with a world tour 'Rebels Never Die' and an eponymous album. It is high time for the king to ascend his throne once again.
