Coming in hot with the 23rd edition of our Subsonic Transmissions 19.87 FM series we have a spellbinding 3 hours from one of the most under appreciated DJ's in UK - the wizard that is @mike-omara!

An ever smiling presence in the Northern UK scene, Mike's influence can only be considered prolific as his unique positive energy both as a truly brilliant DJ & as a promoter/label curator has shaped multiple generations of House heads across the North. Ranging from his role as resident for the seminal @development-music parties playing regularly alongside House royalty such as Kerri Chandler & Ron Trent in addition to co-running their label releasing music from the likes of Mr Scruff, Zed Bias & Phil Asher to name but a few. To his legendary partnership with the sorely missed but never forgotten @danj as Huddle, whose Sheffield based party and "Hotmix" series is widely credited in local club folklore as converting an entire generation of young impressionable dancers from noisy dubstep to the gospel of House & Disco! An invaluable achievement that went on to shape countless other parties & labels in the following years! Before most recently taking up residency at the Soup Kitchen in Manchester with the wonderful Inside Out parties whose colourful aesthetic and booking policy injected a well needed dose of Soul into the Manchester air. 

Currently Mike is a part of the Manchester/Glasgow based Alga-Rhythms crew alongside FOY & Szajna whose monthly show on @reformradiomanchester which is a must listen with a "a selection of unreleased beats & productions, hip-hop, rare groove & a healthy dose of broken beat."

So settle in, get yourselves comfy, whack on those dancing slippers and lock in for 3 hours of the finest electronic soul music, I know we all miss that Subculture Saturday vibe but until we can meet again once more down in our hallowed Jamaica Street basement, this mix comes pretty damn close.

About this CD:
I first discovered what Lazy Dog was all about when tuning into one of Danny Rampling's many Love Groove Dance Party saturday night shows on Radio 1. The deep sounding, sexier and feel good vibes got me interested and I always remember having it taped to cassette on my train trip down to live in London in 2001. When I arrived, I picked up the double disc from a Virgin Megastore on Kings Road and it's soundtrack went onto be the anthem of my year.
