Born in Galicia, Alex Vigo has been shaping the hardgroove and techno landscape since 2010. His productions have landed on respected labels like Ole Black, The Other Face, Synthesis Records, DZB Records, Addepted, Rubiks Recordings, and XTENCE (IAMT Music Group). In 2022, he broke into Beatport’s Top 10 Techno releases and was featured in their Tracks You Might Have Missed: Techno PD list.

His first vinyl release, Backtonights EP (2024), included remixes from César Almena, Du Art, and Adrián Oblanca. With recent signings to ODD RECORDINGS, IAMT, and UNION THREE, and collaborations on the horizon with Fernando Lagreca and Veztax, Alex continues to carve his place in both the national and international techno scene.

This Special Hardgroove Mix for BCCO Berlin explores the intricate world of hardgroove techno, blending innovative rhythms with high-energy grooves. A deep dive into the genre, it’s a journey designed to appeal to both seasoned enthusiasts and new listeners alike.

Raw & Hypnotic Techno Set

Lene Ma Rue is a techno DJ from Tartu, Estonia. She started by throwing off-location warehouse parties back home, booking major techno artists and building a loyal crowd. Now playing internationally, she blends schranz, old-school hardcore, techno, trance and breaks, with experimental touches and vocals. Recent appearances include UNREAL and Verknipt, and clubs such as Thuishaven, Spazio 900, Cocoricò (Riccione) and GOTEC.

This mix captures how the summer felt: fast, direct and emotional—hard kicks, flashes of 2000s trance, rough breaks and the occasional vocal lift.

Victoria Engel, one of the most prominent figures in the Latin American electronic music scene, with a sound that blends Techno, Minimal, and Electro, she has left a lasting impression on clubs and festivals across Europe and Latin America. She is currently preparing to release a new EP on
a renowned international label.

Raised in a family of visual artists, she developed a deep sensitivity to music and art. Her musical influences span post-punk, EBM, new wave, ambient techno, and industrial, all of which have profoundly
shaped her unique style. In 2012, she began studying music production and started crafting her own sound, drawing inspiration from iconic labels like Tresor, Clone, Ostgut Ton, Basic Channel, and Metroplex. Since then, she has been performing at Crobar, where she is now a prominent figure.
After establishing herself in the Buenos Aires scene, Victoria embarked on her European journey, she took part in the Street Parade, and in Switzerland performed at renowned clubs such as Supermarket,
Elysia, Folklor, followed by shows in Italy, Belgium, Turkey, and Lebanon. In 2017, she released her first EP, Cortes Amarillos, on 12" vinyl through the Parisian label RA+RE Records.

Back in Argentina, Victoria solidified her position as a key figure in South American techno. She played at iconic venues such as Mandarine Park, toured nationally, and performed at leading clubs throughout
South America.

In 2022, her seven-hour sets at Under Club and Crobar were widely praised. That same year, she performed at Rock in Rio and launched her label 444 SERIES, which has garnered international support and featured releases from acclaimed artists such as Flug and Jonas Kopp. During 2023 and 2024, she expanded her presence in Mexico, performing at venues like EDC Mexico City, Bar Américas in Guadalajara, as well as shows in Tulum and Morelia. In Argentina, she also performed at La Estación and Cosquín Rock festival.
2025 marked her return to Europe as a fully established international artist, bringing her music to key stages like Free Your Mind in Amsterdam, Human and HÖR in Berlin, and Input in Barcelona, further cementing her place in the global circuit.

Currently, Victoria Engel is focused on her upcoming EP, with high expectations from both the public and the music press. With an unmistakable sonic identity, a strong connection to her audience, and unwavering dedication to her craft, Victoria continues to shape the present and future of Latin Techno.

UMEK’s label 1605 presents an EP from French duo Cosmic Boys, who recently featured on the imprint working in collaboration with UMEK himself, but this time they are back with two solo tracks.

Cosmic Boys previous works have been released via tracks and remixes on labels such as Popof’s FORM, Oscar Aguilera’s HE-ART and Richie Hawtin’s Minus.

Quickly rising through the ranks of the world’s techno elite, Cosmic Boys have achieved many top 10 selling tracks on Beatport, and currently their collaboration with UMEK is charted at No.2 in the techno section of the website.

The duo consists of Sebastien Bevil plus Gaby Meynadier, and they have also proven popular DJ’s with several festival bookings across Europe.

“Paranormal” opens the release with a hammering kick drum and tense pads that lay a foundation for the arpeggiating lead synth and sci-fi effects. Swelling with tension, its high-paced energy gives the track a frantic momentum that’s perfect for peak time plays.

Second of the cuts, “We Are The Futrur” is deeper and more stripped back with a building euphoria that engulfs the track. Underpinned by the relentless pounding of the tough percussion and sinister tones of the ominous vocal, this cut is a twisted blend of dark and light textures.
