Families, tribes and inviduals, wherever you are, shine on. This part took me back to my turntables, and vinyls on the shelves. Was really feeling africa and the new world representing brasil, so my selection for this time was from those parts and of course the electronic aftermaths of the rhythms created by them. Vinyls sounds better they say, but not always. Usually i make these podcasts from wav and mp3 files, and they sound full and cristal clear. Vinyl sounds less loud, different, warmer and if its old, rusty and dusty. Like life is, sometimes high definition, sometimes low fidelity, our perception of reality changes, like the quality of the music we listen. We start with a hungarian record from 1963, Ines Taddio and the Club band, than the original composition from 1959. A classic jam from Sérgio Mendes, and other sweet melodies from that era. The waves of Brasil are slowly taking us to the future of dub and back in time to India and France for a final meditation.

Fleetmac Wood VOL 6 Rumours Rave

Having busted out a staggering amount of edits for Disco Fruit over the past few years, Loshmi makes his vinyl debut for the label with the Drugstore EP, and he's packing even more of that feel-good funk in the process. The title track is a heavy, sample-a-delic jam with a deadly flute lead and heated organs, while "Wsoop Wsoop" opts for an outright boogie freakout of the highest calibre. "Sweet And Nasty" heads in the direction of Salsoul Records to inject some Philly heat into the house beats on offer, and then "Still Loving You" rides the EP out on a sweet, soulful tip.
