With the release of Baker Boy’s new album 'DJANDJAY' (pron. Jan-jay) out now, the multi-award winning Yolŋu superstar, also unveils brand-new single ’RUNNING LOW’ featuring US Rapper Pardyalone. A track that floats on an infectious, melodic hook but carries a deeper weight underneath of burnout, grief, and distance from home. “I was talking about being on the road, the pressure to create - but also the sacrifice of living away from community, of missing funerals and carrying that weight,” Baker Boy says. “It was a favourite from the demo, originally, I sang the hook, but bringing in Pardyalone gave it this crazy energy. His voice just hits.”

Sonically, Baker Boy boldly leans into punk for the first time, while still rapping in his first language Yolŋu Matha. Lyrically, Baker Boy channels his anger and frustration into vivid declarations of pride through powerful bars that mirror the colours and symbolism of the Aboriginal flag; “My pigment is my pride...red dirt, gold chains, blak knight, thick skin”.
 
Following the acclaim of his 5 x ARIA Award-winning debut album ‘Gela’, including Album Of The Year, ‘DJANDJAY’ is Baker Boy’s most emotionally layered and creatively evolved work yet. Named in honour of his late grandmother, ‘DJANDJAY’ also pays homage to the Yolŋu spiritual figure of the same name: a guiding octopus spirit that leads souls forward.

The 14-track ‘DJANDJAY’ album will include previously released singles ’THICK SKIN’, ‘PEACEKEEPER’, ‘FREAK OUT feat. Briggs and Haiku Hands’, ‘LIGHTNING’ feat. REDD. and will also include features from friends and collaborators Pardyalone (US), and Jean Deaux (US).

Denis Rollet is an artist who wonders about the sound phenomenas. His live set-ups are made of often home-made electronics and hi-fi standard hardware. They are the vectors of his ability to amplify the auditory phenomenas and to reduce them to the source of sound : vibration in the air. His live performances are complex, raw and intense, but always focused on the listening.

"Symczycz/Jacobs" is the doom-jazz project of Kirsten Symczycz. Drawing inspiration from acts like 'Godspeed You! Black Emperor,' 'Bohren & der Club of Gore' and 'The Necks', the duo wields oscillating drones and percolating percussives as they carve a path through a darkened, haunted forest of their own design.
