Steering clear of “the program”, DJ Bloc seamlessly mixes your favorite classics from yester-year, with 90’s head boppers, and today’s pop favorites. With over 20 years experience New York City’s Finest DJ is a profound musical mixologist. His unique talent and distinct ear are reflected by his impeccable mix skills blending selections from several musical genres into the same set including pop, house, edm, hip hop, oldies, classics, soca, and reggae.
As a young teen his career began in Brooklyn New York, in collaboration with Black Storm International, a legendary sound from London, England who’s mix CD’s were independently distributed overseas and stateside. Inspired by his Caribbean roots, Bloc’s sultry voice crooned on the microphone mesmerizing the crowd, keeping them thoroughly involved and hanging on his every word. This has made him a club favorite throughout New York City, Northern & Central New Jersey, Philadelphia, Miami, and Los Angeles.
However, DJ Bloc is much more than a club DJ, with bookings at events such as The HBCU College Tour at Giants Stadium, The United Nations and Floss Magazine Fashion Show, celebrity performances, and a corporate client list which includes The Home Depot, BEBE Store, Mike Likes It Ice Cream, and non-profits organizations Pretty World Inc, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, and Citizen Schools where he taught a DJ technique workshop to middle school students, just to highlight a few.
DJ Bloc’s set is an experience that showcases him as a musical connoisseur with refined mastery and crowd control. To keep his mastery of mixing and scratch skills very pure and humble Bloc remains very proud of his vinyl collection and Technic 1200’s, but is well versed is all mediums and equipment types.
Never limiting himself to one aspect of the music industry DJ Bloc is also a certified recording & mix engineer, graduating from IAR in 2011, radio personality, and producer. His on-air experience has included a two hour weekly show on 91.3FM WKRB Kingsborough Community College radio, and production for internet radio shows on 99.3 The Joynt and The Energy Hour on DTF Radio.
