Thanx to all your support and anticipation here it finally is: my Boom Shankar set from the already legendary S.U.N. Festival 2013! 2 hours of Psychedelic Trance, leading from the night towards dawn and right into a sun-filled Sunday morning...and what a morning it was! :)

Unfortunately my recording device failed, so this is not the original live recording, but I re-recorded it in the BMSS Records studio based on my memories (which were a bit blurred to be honest due to a state called "Trance" :) ) I am quite happy with the outcome and I think it contains all the memorable tracks I played...but it's missing something essential: the presence and energy of all you guys on the floor - because it was you who made this festival so special! <3 Still, I hope I will touch your heart with it and in case you are a Solar United Native, that all your memories will come up again!

This journey is dedicated to all my fans and followers who have supported me for almost 20 years, thank you guys so much! In addition, it pays respect to the interconnectedness of 3 of my families: BMSS Records, Transition and S.U.N. - 3 crews I love working with, sharing and connecting our ideas, visions and projects, a trinity which means the world to me!

Boom Shankar - Interconnected [Resurrected Summer 2014 Mix]

AJJA S.F. LEU is an eclectic and multi-talented Swiss artist who channels his creativity through parallel careers as musician/producer/dj, Peak Records label manager, graphic artist and tattoo artist. 

Born in London in 1975, AJJA grew up roaming the planet with his world-renowned family of tattoo-artists and travellers. Wandering across the world and bathed in various artistic scenes, he was provided with a constant creative drive. 

He started playing guitar when he was nine years old, and having been reared in a rock’n’roll and funk atmosphere, he first concentrated on these musical styles. By his mid-teens, he had composed, produced and recorded over one hundred original songs. He performed with a number of live bands in different countries and continued to create music and release rock albums for another decade. During this time, he also picked up the family trade and started tattooing alongside his parents and older brother Filip Leu. 

At the end of the nineties, his interest gradually shifted towards electronic music, causing him to explore new digital horizons. In 2002, AJJA and musician friends Master Margherita, Dymons and Flooting Grooves created The Peaking Goddess Collective, a chill & psytrance band that fuses live instruments and digital technology. After performing in many parties and festivals and releasing tracks on many compilations, their debut album “Organika” was released on Peak Records in August 2007. 

In the summer of 2003, AJJA, in collaboration with his partner, visual artist Tanina Munchkina and musicians Dj Gaspard and Master Margherita, founded the psychedelic trance label Peak Records. In only four years, the label has gained respect and a solid reputation in the psytrance scene, releasing many quality night-time and chill albums and compilations. The same year saw the birth of Yab Yum, the fully digital project shared by AJJA and Dj Gaspard. They have since released numerous tracks on world-renowned labels, and their debut album “Nocturnal Emissions”, released on Peak Records in December 2006, has been widely praised in the international psytrance scene. They have performed with growing success worldwide from Japan to the United States. 

In 2005, AJJA started a solo project under his own name. This digital live-act is primarily 144bpm-based, focusing on groovy, non-cheesy, psychedelic trance that could be played in the morning or in the middle of the night. Since then, AJJA has performed in numerous parties and festivals including the Soulclipse, Life, Gaian Mind, Wickerman, World People, Forgotten Ritual and Waveform Project festivals. His much appreciated live sets have already rocked & grooved dancefloors in Japan, The United States, Canada, Switzerland, France, Portugal, Germany, Austria, Italy, England, Ireland, Scotland and Turkey. In the coming months, AJJA will be performing both his new material and with Yab Yum in parties around the planet, including the famous Universo Paralello in Brazil. A mini-tour in Japan is planned for spring 2008. 

In 2007, AJJA released his first solo night-time track on Moonloop Records. This fall, he will have two more releases on the upcoming Peak Records compilation “Peak-a-Doodle-Doo” and on Northern Psylights Records. His debut album “PSYCHOGENICA” will be released in November 2007, on the newborn Irish label Syncronize Records. Not satisfied with so much activity, Ajja also composes music for theater plays, designs Peak Records covers with his partner Tanina Munchkina, and works as a tattoo artist in his family’s shop in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Tomasz (Atmos) has had a huge impact on my musical sensibilites ever since I first heard his album Headcleaner. When the opportunity came up to bring him to Calgary for an intimate gathering of 150 firends in a beautiful art gallery space with a killer Pk sound system, I had to make it happen. After months of navigating one roadblock after another, the event finally was a go and it was an incredible night of awesome music and fantastic friends.

Ensuring that I had the dancefloor grooving when handing it over to Tomasc was a top priority. Rather than play a set of Zenonesque style psytrance, I chose to go with a more clubby sound that would suit the venue and the music to follow mine. This is a live recording of my set and I'm sporting a big goofy grin as I give it a listen and remember the packed crowd of smiling people. I hope you can hear the enjoyment coming through loud and clear.
