There are a lot of favourite artists involved in this release, peeps: Rising Turkish producers Günce Aci (SXDNS129) and Fat&Bald (a project run by Ortac Genc) joined forces and delivered two powerful original cuts for the 11th release of the acclaimed label Belly Dance Services, curated by the beloved duo Hanzo & Yaman (SXDNS065). “Being and Nothingness EP” comes also with mighty remixes made with love by two of the most established virtuosos of the so-called Dark Disco/Indie Dance scene: Mexican Theus Mago (SXDNS056) and Guatemalan Fabio Me Llaman Soltero (SXDNS187). We chose the remix by the latter to review/premiere.

Owner of a very peculiar sonority, FMLS has been shaking the world with a lot of talent, charisma, and bathrobes (many bathrobes). His interpretation of the title track comes with an exquisite fusion of Latin and Orient elements, resulting in an extremely intricate version. If the original theme combines Günce’s characteristic dark trippy soundscape with Ortac’s rock-infused melodies, Fabio’s 'Neoson' remix can be best described as a beautiful sound mess. Nothing that will surprise his followers; after all, they (we included) are already used to seeing him wreaking havoc in both his performances and productions.

With Cycloid Dyaxis's EP - The Flow, FenixFireRecords straitshes out again to another border of our universe. This has the perfect mood and feel of the early electronics from minimal synthesizer groups. Disaster is a strong drumloop, and a lot is going on with spacy synths. It is like Battlestar Galactica and Dr Who are fighting the final battle over your dancefloor. After that Dr Who episode, we travel toward deep space and discover the outher limits of our sound system. Or was it solar system? Enjoy the Star Power! Watch out for The Flow! Robots are invading your dancefloor! This track is so fun to hear. It realy pushes you back to the early eighties but with a fresh flavour! We close this EP with Crystal. It could have been made by a famous EBM band, but then the ship sailes away to open waters. Clean synths, Crystal clear. This EP is a truly masterpiece of another kind. FenixFire is ahead, always ahead!

Cycloid Dyaxis - The Flow

Xerosorex newest EP is a devilish masterpiece starting with the demonic request to bring new souls -Frisse Zielen-. 
It is actualy a nice mix of acid and electric body music. with some uplifting but dark melodies.
In the same spirit, 'your soul is mine'-jouw ziel is van mij- is a very moody dark track. 
A Depeche Mode like drumloop, fat paths, and a angelic melodie for fallen angels.
-Ruimtereis- Spacetravel, when this engine turns on, the spacetrain is on the way to destination final frontier!
An almost military sequence marches out and plays with bleebs from the observatorium.
Back from space -terug uit de ruimte- puts your feet back on the ground for this massive stomper!
Clean, heavy, demonic, screaming,... everything sounds beautiful aggressive.
Another release ahead of it's time. FenixFire Records, always ahead!

Minimal Wave is proud to present a reissue of the seminal first album from Swiss Wavers, Guyer’s Connection. Tibor Csébits and Philippe Alioth formed Guyer’‘s Connection in Basel, Switzerland when they were only 14 and 15 years old. At the time they were in a new wave rock band called “Kurtzschluss” which they decided to break from in order to make purely electronic music. They began with two synthesizers, a drum machine, a 4-track tape recorder and a multitude of ideas. They channeled their unique and humorous vision into their first album, entitled Portrait which they produced themselves and self-released in 1983. Over the years, the album became a highly sought after minimal synth cult classic. It stands alone as one of the strongest examples of Swiss Minimal Wave, and probably the only one that is in Baseldytsch. The Portrait reissue is presented in a high quality gloss sleeve, with artwork to match their original sleeve design from 1983. The record features newly remastered audio pressed on 180 gram black vinyl, as a hand-numbered edition of 999. Release date: September 16th, 2014.

Guyer's Connection - Pogo of Techno

Within the whole retro-mania of '80s induced club music, you rarely find an artist being as deeply immersed in the affective reverberation of old synthesizers as her. Jennifer Touch showcases her immaculate ability to build dance floor-ready bridges between '80s synth-aesthetics, post punk and wave, as she returns to Riotvan with her second artist EP.

Honouring the original by taking in almost everything of the source material, the undisputed one man army Llewellyn, retouches “Chemistry” into a vibrant, dance floor chugger, focussed on Touch’s Postpunk- and Wave-kissed dreariness. Highly recommended!
