Shelflife is thrilled to announce Airiel's second full-length LP, Molten Young Lovers, coming out on double LP and digital formats on Oct 13, 2017. This album is the much-anticipated follow-up to 2012's Kid Games EP. 

"Cloudburst," the record's first single (which was released this past March), provides a clear insight into the record's magic. The huge chorus is carried by a vocal melody that stands out as the largest part, only complimented by the waves of cascading guitar. In fact, 'large' might be the best possible descriptor for Molten Young Lovers as a whole. The tracks on this LP have a larger-than-life quality, partly due to the crisp production. Kiss' drums are hard-hitting and clear, the guitars are enveloping and lush, and Blanton's basslines flesh out the walls of sound created by the rest of the band. Molten Young Lovers is an album that feels instantly seamless, but that doesn't prevent Airiel from covering a wide range of dynamic ground. Tracks like the opener, "This Is Permanent," and the final track, "The Painkillers," are uptempo songs carried by the unwavering rhythm section, while much of what's in-between--such as "Your Lips, My Mouth"--feel more reflective, without sacrificing any intensity. 

In a 2011 interview, Wrenn mentioned that to others, he often describes his music as, "It's really loud, it's pretty and you can dance to it." At first, this might sound like a description that could fit any number of bands. However, upon diving into Airiel's new album, you'll find it to be both an apt description and an inarguable truth. Molten Young Lovers is a record too loud, too big, and too beautiful to be ignored.

Torrent releases his first single under his alter project AKA i = team rocket. The track was finalised after his debut LIVE Set at the Lunacy Module alongside Murray CY, Sebastian Swarm, Dj Nephil ,Exterminador and more, with huge support from the crowd he returned back to his comfort zone. After a lot of further madness behind the Moog Mother-32 rigged to one of his personal favourites (the Sherman Filterbank 2), he has risen from the depths with more electronic warfare mixed in with odd sampling tricks via MPC. Intend to be hypnotised by modular riffs and stuttering LFO dives. For the club, the floor, the drink even that asap A to B drive, definitely not sensible. Good start ;)

Dance driven future pop that perhaps belongs in a Berlin nightclub circa 2040, Embedded Figures has paved a venomous, dark disco path in the NZ electronic underground before relocating to Melbourne in 2017.

"Minimum Viable Product" (MVP) is an incremental Compilation built over the year by Detonic Recordings.
Each Month an on-line single is published with an "A" and "B" side from each of the international artists participating in the project.
In December the complete compilation will be released on Vinyl featuring the hit from each contributor.

It was some sort of meta romance which had brought them together long ago but now everything seemed to have fallen into place for the young couple. They were very much in love and yet were cold to the touch of the outside world...

Primer is the alias and creative project of vocalist/producer Alyssa Midcalf.

With her debut album, Novelty, Midcalf showcases her skills as both a vocalist and songwriter. The sound of the album, which was composed heavily on a Roland Juno synthesizer, is characterized by driving drum beats, sub-heavy bass lines and shimmering synth leads. Midcalf’s vocals are airy yet dynamic, binding her songs together with a reverberating surrealism. To see these elements on full display, look no further than her haunting cover of The Beach Boys song Til I Die. 

Partly inspired by the indie time travel film of the same name, Midcalf says she was also drawn to the sense of futurism the word Primer invokes. This is fitting with the tone of her debut album, which brings to mind images of a dystopian disco. 
 
Midcalf, who gained some attention as one half of the duo Parts, made her introduction as Primer with the single Anesthetized, released on YHS Records in 2018. Her full album, Novelty, is set to be released on YHS Records in early 2019.
