The newest single from Whodamanny’s Biloba sublabel of Periodica Records is “Volveràn,” a dark and delirious saxophonic strut given four different variations. In the Club version, gang vocals chant to the sky, pads hover like neon mist, and technoid synths twinkle through moonlit boulevards as basslines clad in black leather stomp over a futuristic disco dance. The Radio mix distills these characteristics into sorcerous display of pop songcraft, whereas the Dub goes elsewhere, omitting the sax completely in favor of delayed drum dynamics, cosmic chords climaxes, sunbaked guitar jangles, and vocals shrouded in a hallucinatory haze. And in a bold display of disco house minimalism, the Sax Only cut strips down to saxophone, bass, and drums, with accents of guitar and synth providing subtle pops of color. Faze Action Records presents the official reissue of three of Micky Milans classic tracks from the early 80's, including the stunning "Quando Tu Danses", orginally recorded in 1980. This hybridAof Disco and Brazilian music, with percussion and infectious piano hooks, has been given a re edit by Pacha resident Willie Graff and is already receiving big support from DJ Harvey at his Pikes residency in Ibiza. This track is now officially available for the first time on one side of a 12".
Micky Milan came to prominence in the early to mid 70s as one of France's first DJ's to support the Funk and Disco sounds from the US. Packing out clubs in Paris and delivering marathon sets til 6 in the morning, Milan quickly earned a reputation as a top DJ in the Paris nightlife scene with touring artists such as Prince, Madonna, Delegation all dropping in to catch him spin.
On B1 we have "C'est Une Bombe", a classic example of French boogie, included here is the Faze Action Edit and on B2 we have the dreamy balearic boogie sounds of "Les Vacances On S'Eclate, On S'Evade".

Third and final track from the forthcoming Kat Records 12" release, track B2 and probably my favourite of the bunch. I really went to town on this one, had a lot of fun adding layers of percussion, latin piano, fat brazilian horns and a whole new chorus to blend in with the sweet original, a long time fave track of mine by maestro Manfredo Fest. I hope you enjoy the results!
