He dreamed of writing the great American novel
But when he tried to write his wheels just spun and spun
So he started doing book reviews to pay the bills
He became the literary equivalent of Atilla the Hun
Brutally criticizing, trying to find things to hate
He became a critic because his work was second rate
It takes years of work to write hundreds of pages
Each author thinks they’ve written a book for the ages
He skims though each manuscript in less than ten minutes
Reviews don’t pay that much so he has to set time limits
He pushed himself to the limit, day after day
100 pages per hour going down motorway
Words, words, words, words, words, words
Words rebel – stretch and widen
they hide between the lines
they crowd, they crowd, they become too vague
darken him, irritate him, push him - out of the margin,
The words all swirl together and he mutters to himself
He sits at his desk for hours. It’s not good for his health
He says if you don’t like my reviews, you can tell me to go to hell
To hell, to hell, you can tell me to go to hell
Sometimes if a good book made him jealous and it got under his skin
He’d write a bad review, try to send it to the discount bin
And every day his reviews grew more and more over the top
Like a shark in bloody water, he was unable to stop
And then one day he was overrun by a train of syllables going counterclockwise
And question marks appeared as the words blurred before his eyes
The words on the page now felt empty
He’d expended all his rage
The meaning of words was inverted
He was trapped in a hopeless cage
He viciously pointed out the flaws
Of all his contemporary peers
He burned his bridges and when he fell
his victims erupted in cheers

Now he works as a door to door vacuum cleaner salesman and that’s not going well

The Ballad Of The (former) Literary Critic [lyrical collaboration with Michele Ansani]

Dear listeners,
I am delighted to present my new Single “Secret Rendezvous." This song continues to narrate the romantic adventure of the two protagonists. As mature individuals, they contemplate their love to ensure it is not just a fleeting passion and decide to spend their time in the secluded spots of the French Riviera.

The story behind the song:

Whether it's the quiet, sandy beaches where the waves kiss the shore under the moonlight, the old quarter with ancient street lamps and cobblestones, the secluded park with centuries-old trees, or the renowned Café de Paris, each verse builds a refuge of love around them.

The first verses transport you to Plage de l'Escalet, where soft sand and gentle waves create the perfect setting for secret rendezvous under the silver moonlight. Then, we stroll through Le Suquet, a neighborhood full of history and charm, where their love grows like grains of sand. In Parc du Mont Boron, among the ancient trees and tranquil shadows, we find a place of refuge and intimacy. Finally, we arrive at Café de Paris, an oasis of elegance and refinement, where stolen moments of love blossom under sparkling chandeliers.

Secret Rendezvous

Axel sent me a tune he had and said " can you do anything with this ? " So I contacted Charlotte and the 3 of us created this super alternative Country song , we do hope you like it ! Well after this one everything is nearly completed but nothing actually is , if you see what I mean , 2 songs with Axel , one with Charlotte , and one with Dave Cooper , who is sunning himself on a Med cruise at this moment in time , lucky bugger ! I might do a couple of remixes just to keep things going , don't know yet , please stay tuned !

Agony is a song that reflects the experience of living in the metropolis of São Paulo, Brazil. An immense city that offers opportunities while taking away peace. A city that is both chaotic and beautiful at the same time.

I worked In a family business for 30 years. i decided to leave because there was something missing in my life. I think i have found it! . The pure joy it brings!!! Music! I have worked with some great artists here and that has helped me so much as i learned to step out of the box!  In the end if i can say i shared what i love then i am satisfied!! It just means so much to me to see you guys sharing your soul! In the end we are all successful!!!!!
