This mix was definitely inspired by this amazing photograph taken by Australian photographer: Marcelo Lang. I was so glad he gave me permission to use it, because the songs in this set seem to go perfectly with this beautiful back drop. "Gems" by Tasha LeRae, Divinity & Piranahead and another "Banger" by DJ David Morales to name a few. "Shine" absolutely epitomizes the musical spirit of summer 2021. So you know the drill. You guys should have seen my face when I cleaned out my old storage unit in Atlanta and found these old mixes. Unfortunately I'm not the most organized and I am really not a saver but for some strange reason I saved a few of these sets that I put on CD between 2002 and 2005. There were a few CD-J decks floating around back then but I didn't know anyone that had one yet, all the DJ's I knew were still using vinyl but you could tell a change was coming fast. Record stores started closing left and right and it was really sad but a few of us kept on playing that Wax! This set is from 2002, I was 35 with a head full of hair (Ha-Ha) "Locs" to be exact. My playing style was very fast meaning I didn't really let the songs breathe, I played 21 tunes in this set but most of the mixes back then I was squeezing 28 songs into an 80 minute CD (LOL). My style has changed over the years but I'm still having a blast and still totally in love with The Music!!! (Enjoy)

Here is another Mix that I found a couple of moths ago in my Atlanta storage unit. This one is from 2003 and I think my style was becoming a little bit more Soulful? I was living in Atlanta at the time and I was living downtown really close to my job, and I remember that I couldn't wait to get home after to work everyday to jump on those turntables set up in my room. I still was playing the records a little fast and hard; I mean I jammed in 23 tunes on this nearly 80 minute set. This was before any online music hosting sites, so the mix had to fit nicely on a good old fashion CD. You guys remember those? (LOL) Good Times indeed! I appreciate you guys going down memory lane with this "Recovered" series and of course I hope you enjoy The Music!!! Let's Go...

Soulful House Mix / August 2016

In essence very much like my Soulful Deep House sessions, but since this is kind of a new beginning for me I have decided to start this new line of mixes called Deep Vibrations instead. My thinking is that anything with a deep vibe can fit into the mix (deep house, deep soulful house, nu-disco, indie dance etc). Hopefully you'll get the idea when you listen to it ;)

Tony Wilson is a man who loves to create and play music. For over three decades he has thrilled crowds from around the globe with his soulful style of house music. He was influenced by some of today's house music legends like Tony Humphries, Shep Pettibone, Frankie Knuckles, and also the legendary Larry Levan (RIP), just to name a few. Tony grew up in the Bronx, NYC, an environment that was rich in all styles of music, which he flawlessly mixes in during his DJ sets. Tony has consistently displayed an insatiable appetite to flourish musically. Despite his early remix work and productions, he has decided to take a hiatus from the studio and dedicate the majority of his time musically behind the decks in clubs/radio mixshows around the globe. He also gives a huge part of his time by working with several non-profit organizations who provide assistance to the people in Africa who are suffering and struggling on a day-to-day basis. He has worked with a ton of organizations in Africa and was one of the first American DJs who helped put together huge AID concerts in Africa. Despite his rigorous DJ schedule, which he plays for thousands of people around the globe from Europe to Asia, he still plays with an unrivaled energy which gives him the desire to thrill and excite the people who come to hear him play. Tony will never be stagnant, but static, always trying to find a way to reinvent himself and redefine his DJ sets. When asked by one of many music magazine reporters, how would he like to be remembered after he retires from music, Tony said, and I quote, "he would like to be remembered as a man who always remained humble to his fans, gave all he had behind the decks, and always played with his heart and his soul", end quote.
