GESTALT 4AM LIVE

When Zurich's Mathias Makau recorded his first track on Playstation 1, releases on labels like Baroque or even his own label Elastic Trax were still pure wishful thinking.
Years have flown by since his first steps and we welcome him with his new EP Lion's Head on Sirion Records.
Minimal warm basslines, drums, percussion elements, synth surfaces and intelligently distributed accompaniment sounds, peppered with discreetly held vocals give the tracks organic warmth and a wonderful depth.
Besides the two original tunes, a dub mix and remixes by are:age and Nachtaktiv round off the package wonderfully.

Friends, I need your feedback! Perhaps there are fans of this musical genre here? What would you call it?

Once I played at Fullmoon party on Koh Phangan. We were making a techno party at one of the bars on Haad Rin Beach. My set was the last in the lineup and started at 4 am. By the time I arrived at the party, the dance floor was already packed with heavy techno. I had no choice but to continue playing in the same spirit...
This is my "dark" side. I don't play that kind of music very often, but this set was pretty torn up...

It made sense, therefore, to start our musical journey through the four seasons in this most-cherished period of the year: the summer. 

Across this VA, we have collected a group of tracks that shimmer and buzz with the energy of long, brilliant nights under the stars, but which also capture the unhurried calm of a balmy, carefree summer’s afternoon.
