So much talent from my part of the country (SW Louisiana, SE Texas) George Jones, Tracy Byrd, Mark Chesnutt, George Straight, Janis Joplin, Edgar Winters and the list goes on.  Tracy Lawrence sang with a Louisiana based band in 1988-1990.  He was shot 4 times by robbers in may 1991 which delayed his first album Sticks and Stones.  He was named top new male country vocalist in 1993.  He continues to create great music.  Just one of my favorite Tracy Lawrence songs.

Contours and Detours is my take on Gershwin's Rhythm changes with my own harmonic substitutions throughout. Written in B-flat Major with a Key change in the bridge.

A New Sun (with Junior Ali on djembe)

This is the latest song from the album Wou-Wou & the Wormling, Stricknice, Bitzone, and I have been working on. Like all the rest of the songs in the set, this one began during the start of the pandemic and reflects the changes in political perspective that were happening in society, and continue to this day. And, as with the other songs, I started this song with an unreleased demo from Wou-Wou and created a 1 minute outline which I then often passed on to a guest collaborator. When it came time to fully work on the track, I expanded on the original idea, along with the guest collaborator stems, until a full song was arranged. I then passed the bones and organs of the song to Stricknice and Bitzone to add any additional muscles and flesh they believed in until it was finished. I am so blessed to work with Wou-Wou, Bitzone, Stricknice, and all the guest collaborators on this inspired set, that one day will be complete. 

May everyone find something authentic to themselves to believe in.

Tony(Tony's Lyrics) asked me if I could make a cover of one of his tracks. I always liked his songwriting, so I went through his catalogue. I decided to make a version of "Something about the rain". Well this one is different . I asked Andrea to send me some mythical lyrics , which she did , and I put a basic idea for a song together . When I sent it to Axel to have a play about with it he completely transformed it into what it is  now . With his instrumentation and production , and Andreas fantastic and inspired lyrics , this is ( hopefully ) a joy to listen to , enjoy ! Next up on the 1st of November is a moody blues/rock song by Dave Cooper and myself , closely followed by 2 songs by myself . Me and Dave , and me and Gaz have just completed songs yet to have a release date , and me and Charlotte are half way through a new one . Thank you so much for listening .

Another one of those amazing Traditional songs where the original songwriter is unknown. Kurt Cobain resurrected it when he did an MTV Unplugged version. He was a huge fan of Leadbelly, who also recorded and performed various versions of it. The legendary Bill Monroe also covered it, among others. The song has been referred to often as "In The Pines" or "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" and sometimes referenced using both in the Title. This version features an AcoustaTronic approach and I revised the lyrics based on a number of different versions of the song in a way that made the most sense to me, personally. Also, finally figured out another opportunity to use my Native American Bamboo Kiowa Flute in the background......just because I've been trying to find a way to integrate it into one of these tunes in some way.
