Sam Thousand (formally known as Sam Trump) is a multi-instrumentalist, singer/writer, producer/composer and a 3Arts Recipient with 15+ years of experience in live performance art, curation, and self management. Since picking up the trumpet at age 7, his artistry has allowed him the opportunity to perform in all corners of North America as well as overseas.

Sam Thousand has become a fixture in Chicago’s music scene through various stages from the Pritzker Pavilion at Millennium Park to a cozy nook in a low-lit speakeasy in Fulton Market. 
He has maintained years of performance residencies, and has curated special events from tributes to artist showcases. In addition to performing and curating, he has served as a booking manager to facilitate performance opportunities for other musicians. Sam Thousand is co-founder of multiple Chicago-based organizations, and is a business owner and entrepreneur. Everywhere he goes, he brings a sophistication that engages & uplifts.

Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, La'Mont R. Williams aka M.C. Flu would discover his love for producing, hip-hop, and rap music at an early age from listening to mixtapes in his local barbershop and with his high school friends. Inspired by his best friend Chase Stewart aka Slim Cee, to both produce instrumentals and later rhyme over the self-produced beats, M.C. Flu's journey began. It was not until Flu met Travis Grace aka Trav while attending Upper Iowa University, and formed the Merc Squad, that Flu's style as a producer emerged from the dorm room productions of Merc Squad's two campus mixtapes. Over the years Flu established his unique sampling technique and collaborates with Slim Cee on projects and creative discussions. M.C. Flu sites J. Dilla, the Heatmakerz, No I.D., DJ Premier, Pete Rock, The Alchemist, DJ Paul and Juicy J, Kanye West, Apollo Brown, Black Milk, Just Blaze, and others as his inspiration.
